Wow, they really weren't kidding when they said 80% space reduction! I packed all my clothes and beddings for my move, and I was AMAZED that I was able to pack ALL of my winter sweaters (I have dozens and dozens) in just 2 large space bags; I packed ALL of the clothes that have taken me 8 containers before in just 3 of them now, and my moving process has been made SO much easier! Contrary to what others have said, the black hand pump actually does work, and that's what I've been using this entire time. It does take a little more time and perhaps some perseverance toward the end where you really have to work to squeeze the last bit of air out, but I haven't found any difference in volume between doing it by hand and by vacuum. I ordered 2 boxes of these and used all but one of them with absolutely no problems; only one jumbo bag had a bit of an issue and would slowly re-inflate, which I noticed immediately. I monitored all the other bags I packed for about 3 weeks before putting them away into containers, and none of the other ones re-inflated, not even a bit. They were rock solid. I contacted customer service just about the one jumbo bag. Reaching them was already made very easy and accessible since the seller followed up on my order before I even received the package (all I had to do was hit "reply" to the email), and they IMMEDIATELY sent a replacement that more than made up for the defective one bag. The tremendous help that these bags provided would have already scored a 5/5 stars, but the customer service was somehow even better! I would give this a 6 out of 5 stars if I could. Just give these bags a chance and never look back!! They are worth EVERY penny.

I bought this before a trip knowing we’d come back with more than we left with. On the way there I used 2 bags (1 for a big squishmallow that my son prefers to use as a pillow, and 1 for four beach towels, the squishmallow bag was opened and closed a few times and stayed compressed each use, the towels were never used and stayed compressed the whole 12 day trip). On the way back I used 2 more bags (both for dirty laundry). 3 of the 4 bags worked flawlessly, one of the dirty laundry bags did not stay compressed…. I tried all the tricks that I’ve read here in the reviews and it just didn’t work. At least it kept the dirty laundry separate from the clean, but still, it didn’t work and made repacking a tad difficult. I have yet to used the rest of this bundle, but given the reviews I suspect only 75% of them will work, which is still a good deal. I have not tried to use a vacuum, I only used the pump that was supplied. I recommend putting your items in the bag and then placing the bag in your suitcase and then sucking the air out, this is to make sure it compresses to fit in your suitcase!!

These really do a great job. Hits about everything important. You can see what's in the bag, suction cup is great, seals well. Love the sizes. Great value for you money. Organized my clothes in a jiffy, without taking up too much room. Now my off season clothes are under the bed. I even used them for all my extra yarn.

These storage are the easiest to use than any other I’ve ever tried. They’ve study and shrink down in seconds.

I bought these to replace my Space Bags (now owned by Ziploc) because most of my Space Bags quickly and easily cracked and leaked.* I only have one complaint about this product: The bags are not marked as what size they are, so if you are looking for a certain size you have to stop and measure it to know which one it is (unless you're really good at eyeballing size, which most people are not). This doesn't sound like a big deal, but when you buy all the sizes they carry and have to find the size you want in a box full of different sizes, it would be a lot more convenient if they were marked. I used these to pack up emergency GO BAGS for each family member and the dog, with blankets, pillows, clothing, meds, food, and other essentials. This way all essentials are packed and ready to go in case of an earthquake or tsunami (very possible where I live), and they are all stored compactly with no worries about bugs, mold and mildew while in storage. And of course these bags will be just as useful for basic storage or travel. Highly recommended. But, if I find they leak over time or crack easily while being handled (like the Space Bag brand often do), then I'll come back here and update my review. ~~~ * I think these Space Saver bags are thicker and a little more pliable and so don't expect them to crack and leak like Space Bags do, but I realize this is difficult because any bag of this kind must be made of stiff plastic in order to hold in air and lock out moisture. Bags that are too soft and pliable cannot hold in air and block out moisture due to the way plastic is made. And the softer the bag the more chance there will be a chemical reaction with the contents, which can cause a yellow or green caustic film to attach to anything inside the bag. It's all pretty complicated, but having worked in an industry that used plastic storage bags regularly, I learned these things. So, my experience tells me this product should hold up much better than Space Bags brand by Ziploc. One last note - if you're going to store something of high value I would make sure it is first wrapped in a protective covering that is not made of plastic. I suggest a cotton sheet or plain acid-free paper. This will insure no chemicals from the plastic will leach out onto the item over time. If you have questions about possible chemicals in the plastic I suggest you write to Spacesaver Corporation and ask about it.

I really really really like these bags when they work.... but the fact of the matter is they dont always hold the vacuum sealed form. I recently used these to move, saved a TON of room in teh moving truck. I had been slowly packing them up over a few weeks before the move and putting them in the closet until it was time. They were super easy to use, seemed to be of good quality and really saved the space I needed. The problem was about a week or so after I packed them and vacuumed sealed them, they began to re-expand to the original size. I tried on multiple occasions to reseal the entire bag from scratch, but every time... it lost the seal. They do stand by their lifetime guarantee and I reached out to them for new bags which they sent quickly, but over the next few weeks the other bags lost their seal one by one. Defeats the purpose, right? Yes... yes it does. I will likely reach out soon for new ones again, but I have a hard time just throwing away a ton of plastic like this. Im no super recycle freak, but I dont like to waste things and I dont like to throw more useless things in the garbage dumps. Pros: -Great space saver -Different sizes for everything you could need -Great for moving -Easy to use -Great lifetime guarantee and service Cons: -Dont hold their seal and expand -Tons of plastic to throw away if you do require new ones from the lifetime warranty Overall, I really want to lose these things because they do what they are supposed to in the beginning but can just expand on you and lose all their value pretty quickly, even if you reseal and ensure no leaks over and over again. 3 stars because sometimes they work and sometimes they dont. Good potential for this product, needs more work

I live in a small apartment with almost no storage space -- not even a pantry! I've been storing my extra sheets and blankets in underbed bins, but the last couple of times I changed sheets, I found the stored ones smelled weird. They were clean and dry, but they had absorbed some kind of plastic-y, chemical scent from the bins. So I went looking for some kind of airtight bags that might help and came across these space saver bags. For someone whose never used these before... The bags were thinner than I expected but seen very sturdy. I've only used a couple of them so far, but they work great. The hand pump is surprisingly efficient, at least with the smaller bags. I'm too lazy to use it on the jumbo bags, so I'm glad I bought a cheap electric pump made specifically for bags like these. The clips are annoying but I see the point. I mostly sealed the bags manually but then ran the clip over the seal to make sure I hadn't left any gaps. The lack of instructions is frustrating. Just some short instructions on the product label, no indication of how much the different size bags should hold, and a vague warning not to overfill. For a quality product and a well-known name, you'd think they'd give a new customer a little more info and guidance. Overall, I'm happy with my purchase. I'll likely spend some more time this weekend putting my quilts and winter blankets -- maybe even my sweaters and winter wear -- in these bags, not just to save space but also to keep them fresh-smelling!
