Superb protein skimmer
Bought to replace a Hydor internal protein skimmer that had started to become unreliable after about 15years. Hydor unit only available in smaller size. Replacement needed to be compact and suitable for my 180 litre aquarium. It was easy to set up and was working efficiently within two days. Seems very effective, is silent and it’s easy to empty the collecting cup. A bit expensive but it seems to be worth every penny.

Best Nano Skimmer on the Market
This is probably the best slimmer on the market. I have a fluval M40 marine tank. The skimmer is small but really powerful & very quiet. I would definitely recommend getting one of these skimmers. Easy to set up and install. Just plug in & play. It’s an amazing bit of kit.

Producing the Gunk
Excellent Skimmer used a Tunze 9002 for a few years, but this is producing far more waste. I am sure corals are looking better for it. Silent plug and play operation, I set it slightly higher in the water but open the air valve and its working great. Fitted on a RSM 130D on a stevie T rack. :-)

Easy set up
Silent, mega easy to set up compared to the last two skimmers I've owned, overflow protection, very impressive

Decent
Good little skimmer for the price. No fuss, plug-and-play operation.Lots of microbubbles for the first week or so. And the cup would fill up in about 10 seconds with the air valve fully open.Once it had bedded in, no more bubbles, and a decent, consistent skim of brown water. Now with the valve fully open, the cup can go 4 or 5 days without emptying. The only small downside. It’s not “silent” as I was led to believe.Far from noisy. But you’ll definitely know when it’s on.

the Magnets
Magnets are are no good keep coming of the glass because a poor quality design tiny little plastic push in brackets to hold the Magnet on wish no good but running well good performance from it , just magnets and plastic brackets , or clips that hold on the magnets too easily broken

Great skimmer all round, downside is magnets could be stronger.
Read multiple reviews and the general consensus was this is a good entry level skimmer, having owned a frankly rubbish AIO skimmer from another brand who shall not be named (begins with an H and ryhmes with door) I had high hopes for this tunze 9001.Now having had the skimmer for a month or two I can say with confidence that's it's a great skimmer. It's low profile and quietness is ideal for the smaller aquariums it's targeted towards. If you follow advice and wait until the skimmer has broken in after 2 weeks you'll be rewarded with a consistent flow of skimmate, just be sure to open the air valve as mush as possible after this time - the more bubbles the unit produces, the more efficient it is at removing excess nutrients. My only gripe is the magents which hold the unit to the glass are too weak, when your placing the cup back the whole unit can become dislodged which can become quite annoying. My advice is to place the cup back gently and use just a finger to tap the cup into the correct seated position.
