Studio 5.0 E Quad Band Unlocked (White) (Discontinued by Manufacturer)

Bought this phone to be a spare for either emergencies or for visitors that come from abroad and do not have a local cell phone/number. I've put a AT&T pre-paid (Go Phone) and it was recognized right away and it is working well so far. Made a few calls to test it, and they were loud and clear as expected - regular calls and also using the speaker. I did not test the earpiece for phone calls, but I can do it later and update the review.Connection with my home wifi was set with no problem, although I noticed that it took a little longer to establish the connection (like 30-45 seconds). But ever since, I've been using/testing web surf, youtube, e-mails, and they all worked perfectly.I was surprised by the battery life.. I've charged for a few hours (since the battery came already charged at +80%) and let it be to see how long it would last. That was 3 days ago. It is now at 56% !! Maybe it is because I did not use it that much for calls (and the AT&T signal strength here is at the highest level) and the wifi signal is also high... anyway I was positively surprised by it. Let's wait and see after a few months how that turns out.I think the only downside of it is the earpiece: does not provide a great sound experience, and if you plug other phones (I've tried with my other Iphone original and general brands as well) the sound is low and not good at all. I did see same reports for this issue with other BLU phones. Maybe something that needs to be improved in future models.I've ran the ANTUTU benchmark on this phone and it came out as 10604 (Poor CPU; other items as general), which is higher than another phone I have (Samsung Galaxy S II) that is also outdated, but still working fine. My Galaxy S ii was rated by ANTUTU benchmark as 10454 (same details as the BLU).Final conclusion: great phone for U$ 99.99 !!Updated on July 23rd 2014:Just wanted to let everybody know that although the product is specified as "BLU STUDIO E" and it also says so on the product box, when trying to find this model on the BLU website, it does not exist !! The exact same model that is listed on the BLU website is the "STUDIO K" model. Also, I've trying to get a new screen protector (the one that came with it ended up peeling off and getting dirt so I had to discard it), but it looks like nobody makes it. I can find the screen protectors for pretty much all other models, but not for this "Studio K" one. I've ordered one from another site that was supposed to fit the "Studio E" but it came bigger and the holes were not aligned with the phone... useless !! If anybody finds the exact perfectly fit screen protector let me know !!

Well, It has been a week since getting a studio 5.0e for my wife, She is loving it, the size is perfect for her since she is Candy Crush player. I need to get a micro sd card because it does not hold many info and once the internal memory is about to be full Whatsap will not send images. She told me the other day the screen was showing a bunch of chinesse letter but It hasnt done it again. Iam getting the 5.5s for me. I will keep you post later.

The phone itself is very nice and what I expepted but I dropped it once and its screen cracked. I've had other smartphones that can withstand a lot more falls and still won't crack. Also I can't find a phone case for this phone anywhere! not online nor in the stores so there was no way I could protect it. If you want a nice and affordable (and you're keen on not dropping your phone) phone this would be a great buy.

I bought my father this phone to use in other Country. After I arrived in South america I took it to get a chip and register the phone with carrier. My father enjoys the phone and all the apps that he can use now. Technology is great! I can video chat with my father and see him everyday! I wish they sell the case for the phone. This phone is pretty new in South America and I couldn't find a case that fits the phone. Also I bought a case here in Amazon, but it didn't fit the phone.. Please make cases and other accessories for phone.

Folks, I have not tested the phone out yet (it is to replace a lost travel phone), but I was hoping that the camera would be better than my older 'Andriod' phone. I am sorry to say that this camera is just as bad in indoor lighting. The White Balance is horrible, and frankly you cannot shoot images that are not in bright light.I compare it to my Samsung Note II, and the indoor shots are hands-down better. So, if low-light shots are important (as they are to me) then this phone will not satisfy.[EDIT] I just returned from a trip to Costa Rica (which is why I bought this phone). I *HATE* this phone! The touch screen requires pressure to detect your finger. The alpha keyboard is slightly off center so you need to adjust your finger strikes to hit the proper letter. The camera is hopeless.I will be looking for a better product and will review it once I return from my next voyage.

it's ok for its price

While there's a couple of things I can say about this phone while this phone is one of those phone you use just make it look like you have and expensive phone reason being is because of how much it freezes up if you try to do some many things at once and that when you deleted/uninstall apps you have to reboot your phone other wise its going to move slow as crap I would recommend this phone for kids between the ages of 7 to 14 only because of how the phone is would give it a higher rank if you could use 3G

I have had this for more than a year and it works fine. It was a great price and has been reliable. I just cannot find a case to fit it. All the aftermarket cases are the wrong size and have the holes in the wrong place.

This is a low budget phone. Bear this in mind when purchasing. Works great for apps, wifi, etc. The clip that holds the microsd card in place broke after the second installation of the card. I will not remove the card now that it is in the unit. Camera is absolute garbage, but I am not using it for photography and neither should anyone else who requires a clear picture with proper color representation. I have not installed a cellular sim card in this device, as I bought it for a cheaper mp3 player alternative to 'other' companies out there. Music plays fine through a sound system, as with most devices don't rely on internal speaker EVER. Also using alternative app for managing music on the device.

While the phone has a beautiful screen with fabulous resolution, it is useless for anything other than texting. Sound quality is abysmal, and I cannot get data to work at all - with either one or two sims installed. There is little information available on using the phone - no in-depth manuals, just the basics - and the company doesn't respond to emails or Tweets.

great deal works well

Great phone... But not on the bell/telus network where we live since it doesn't support the bands we have. I returned it and ordered a dash instead.
