Instant Beach Star Tent, Blue

People complain that this tent does not provide protection from the elements. It's not supposed to. It's a sunshade tent, not all-purpose shelter. If you don't expect otherwise, you will be very happy. For beachgoers this is a perfect, easy sun shelter. One person can easily put up and take down. The only beach chairs that will fit into it are low ones, but that's okay. It is well ventilated and provides privacy. Use ziploc bags of wet sand inside the pockets to stabilize the tent on a windy day. Far more stable than beach umbrellas and easier to set up.

Bought this in advance of a week at the beach. After watching all the other people fight with the big canopy tents, many of which I saw go in the trash due to failure, this little tent performed WONDERFULLY for us! No issues with the set up or take down, I did my homework but was still amazed at just how fast this tent pops up and is ready to go! I had a few compliments on it as well!Only drawbacks I experienced with the product was A. It was just a little too small for my liking, Im 5'11 230 lbs and the tent was barely roomy enough for myself, my girlfriend (112 lbs) and a mini cooler. Another 2' wider and 1' taller and it would have been idea. B. Being enclosed on three sides did raise the temp in the tent a little, Id guess by 5-7 degrees even though it did offer decent shading when placed at the right angle according to the sun. C. When putting the tent away there were some complaints about the plastic poles breaking. The poles are good quality and I noticed a few times where one of the poles tried to bend the wrong direction when folding away. If you take a few moments during the breakdown to ensure you dont bend one of the poles in the wrong direction the tent will last many uses!Overall this is a neat little tent and I would recommend it to others.

We purchased this tent years ago, and after many years of use, sand, salt water, etc. it was damaged. We liked it so much, we turned around and bought the exact same one. We love this tent. As someone who burns after being in the sun after 10 minutes, this is a MUST-HAVE for our beach days!

I have an easy-up tent that sets up in the same way as this Genji Sports Beach tent, so maybe I was familiar with it, because I was really surprised when I set this up in probably 30 seconds without reading any instructions...don't even know if it came with any.My wife has allergic reactions to the sun (medication side effects) but this kept her and out if the sun at Ala Moana beach in Honolulu from 12:00-4:00 on a hot afternoon. She didn't get burnt at all, though it was hot and not too breezy so it did get hot.It wasn't windy so I didn't use the stakes (but my son somehow lost lost one of them playing with them...). Don't really see the use if someone is always sitting in it or if you have some bags or coolers to hold it down.During take down, I literally took this down, folded it up, and it it in the bag using only one hand because I had to hold a bunch of wet stuff and didn't want to place it in the sand. What a great product! I saw a different brand at sports authority for cheaper, but it wasn't as big as this one.Speaking of size, it was a little scrunched having two full sized chairs in it. I think if we had traditional beach chair (the type where the seat is a few inches off the ground) it would have been a little more comfortable, but we were using the higher type (seat is about 14 inches off the ground).Hope to use this regularly in the future.

This tent is an excellent product. It is billed as lightweight and easy to set up and it delivers on those points. One major issue with these type of beach tents is that they are difficult to setup and stay set up with strong winds like you have at the beach, but we used this tent every day for almost a week and it did not have a single problem with winds whatsoever.You just spread the legs out, raise the center and lock it in place, then press the included stakes into the sand and you are pretty much set. It does make it a lot easier if you have a helper to keep it still while getting the stakes in, but it could be done solo I think. Once the stakes are in, you are good to go.The design allows the wind to pass through at the bottom and it stays put. It has some small sand bags attached to it you can use to help hold it down, but after the first day, I didn't even bother with filling those, it didn't need it, and it was very windy too, we could not even open our umbrella without holding it faced into the wind so we didn't even use it, but the tent resisted the constant wind easily.I would say this is best used for a couple with one or two kids maximum though, you can fit two chairs side by side easily but if you wanted more than that it would be a tight fit. This is a perfect base camp for your beach days, easy to set up and take down, resists the wind and is light weight, cant ask for more than that really.

I looked at a few sun shades and went with this one because is looked as though it would do the trick at the beach with my baby and it was a little cheaper than the others, I had a lot in my cart. lol Anyway, this arrived yesterday. I opened it up to test this thing out in case I needed to get something else before our big beach trip for the long weekend. THIS THING IS AWESOME!!! It literally takes a second to snap it up and snap it down in easy. Very necessary with a 18 month old. It is actually a little larger than I originally thought. :-) comes in a nice compact case to carry. Very easy to disassemble and get back in the bag. I can't say it enough, I recommend this if you are looking for a sun shade. It really is great and only for people that don't want to use any effort putting it up and putting it away. :-D I was very worried about going on a 4 day beach venture with my 18 month old by myself, dad had to work. I needed all this stuff as you do with every trip with a baby and was wondering how i was going to manage everything on my own. This thing is so fast to put up I don't have to worry about dropping everything to run after my baby as he tries to take off. By the time he even thinks of taking off on his little adventures this thing will already be up! Sorry it's so long, just so thrilled with it.
