These Rubbermaid lids have a double seal to provide a snug fit. The flexible yellow covers preserve freshness in 6 and 8-quart containers. These Rubbermaid lids have a large tab and slight depression to comfortably accommodate one-handed lifting. An area is available to mark the date of storage to ensure product quality. It's expensive for a lid, but at least it's a good one.
The lid cost more than the container but it is a good quality lid that fits nicely and doesn't seem like it'll crack down the line. There is a round dip in the area just inside the lip of lid where you open it that adds to it's reliability, so there is some extra oomf to the lid making the high price a bit more justifiable, and the plastic is fairly thick; that dip reduces flex damage when opening and closing so overall I'm pleased with it.

What an amazing rip off!! Bought the container for less than 5.00 on sale... thinking I was getting the lids too ... but no!!!Almost 15.00 for the lid? NOT BUYING FROM THIS DISTRIBUTOR AGAIN.... Or Rubbermaid
