This is a quality desk tape dispenser, make no mistake about that. Having used cheap pound store type dispensers, which claim to be heavy and sturdy, but slide ridiculously, this is a breeze to use. No more name calling, for wrapping christmas presents as I can finally do these on my own.There is enough weight on the dispenser for me to use this with one hand only, a solution I should have known existed by spending a little more. You'd think spending more a few quid on a tape dispenser would be daft, I'd strongly urge you to try it. You will be shocked at the results.I too was rather skeptical of this at first, wish I could bring back the lost time and frustration wrapping presents. It's no longer a chore now. It’s one of those products that isn’t ever at the top of your list. So for years you struggle finding the sellotape, is it in that drawer or that drawer. Then you can’t find the end. Then you’re that fed up finding the end, when you do, you decide to rip lots of bits off and try and find a surface to hang them on. Sound familiar? Break the cycle and just BUY BUY BUY!Now I know where the dispenser is, it’s out and proud. It’s large, it’s weighty and I can use it one handed as its sturdy and sharp!

We like to spoil our children with a heap of gifts at their birthdays or for Christmas. The only recurring problem is that it all needs to be wrapped and packaged in gift paper - an time consuming and annoying task. In particular if you don’t have a proper sellotape dispenser at hand. We have tried countless of tape-dispensers over the years but they were invariably too light, had no grip on flat surfaces, lacked a sufficiently sharp tape cutting blade or caused the tape roll to twist with friction. Frankly we should have bought an more industrial dispenser much earlier on. Luckily our daughter clumsily tipped the former dispenser off the table causing it to loose its sand weight content.This Scotch dispenser does not suffer from the usual flaws. It comes in a neutral black color. And Amazon offered it at a very attractive price, just a little above the average price of the more mundane generally useless smaller dispensers. To my surprise it operates smoothly, pleasantly even.Moreover is quite versatile as it can accommodate standard 3” reels and 6” ones- due to the interchangeable centre triangle - brilliant in its simplicity’!! Also the rolls can vary in width.It does not come with a role of tape but I had spare rolls of various sizes and could easily and happily start taping away.

This is one of those purchases that you make and then think how on earth did I manage without it! All those days of trying to find the end of sellotape and of sticking bits to the back of your hand while trying to wrap a present or parcel - gone!! I am also sitting here now thinking how did I miss the fact also that this dispenser can accept both the large reels of tape with a 3" diameter as well as the 1"! Totally missed this when I purchased the unit and went out to get the larger roles of tape but all you have to do is pop out the middle part of the white tape holder you can see in the picture and off you go!The unit itself is nice and heavy and, when sat on my desk, will not move when you select and tear some tape.Overall highly recommended.

Excellent Tape Dispenser.I bought a couple of other tape dispensers recently and they really weren't much good, too light and poor cutters. I ended up having to use them two handed and it was a very frustrating experience. Eventually I gave up on these tape dispensers and went for this Scotch C10 desk tape dispenser. Huge difference, it is nice and heavy and sits on the desk without moving, the cutter works very well and I can pull and cut tape single handed, this makes a surprising difference to any work which requires sticky tape. Don't waste money on any other tape dispenser, get this one!

One of the best purchases I’ve made in a long time. I used to have one of the heavy metal ones which I’d had for years and was fantastic. Unfortunately, it went missing and in turn I missed it every time I had to wrap a parcel and even more so at Christmas time.After searching in vain for an identical one like my old faithful metal one I finally decided to buy this. I had read the various reviews about it not being heavy enough and not fit for purpose, but to be honest I thought anything would be better than a lose reel of sellotape and scissors.Honestly, I don’t think it’s a bad item at all. Okay, I agree it’s not as heavy as the old metal version and so can slide slightly if you really yank at the sellotape. However, it’s a lot better than not having a sellotape dispenser and if you are sensible with it and do not try to yank great long lengths of sellotape at a time it really doesn’t move that much and the movement (if any) doesn’t hinder its use.Yes I would buy an old fashioned metal one if they were to make them again, but I’m happy with this one. It does the job quite adequately for my needs and would probably suit most people’s needs. A metal one now would no doubt be far more expensive than this and therefore I would think people would tend to opt for this version anyway. I’m guessing the purchase of metal ones would be more for people who are using the dispenser a lot every day and those who are perfectionists (like me) or a bit heavy handed and need the extra stability.
