Here are the pros and cons of this meditation mat:Prosa) The mat is well constructed. It feels solid and heavy and is built to lastb) It is supremely comfortable and since it is made of buckwheat hulls, is malleable to your body. The mat is large. You can spend a good amount of time on the mat.c) The outer cover is washable.Consa) The outer cover smells of some preservative. Since the mat was made many months back, I am assuming that a chemical was added to preserve it. I washed it twice and the smell is gone.b) I will update the rating after a few months, in case I run into any issues.For now, a full five stars for this mat. Recommended.

Delivers as promised

It's a great product for anyone who's not used to sitting cross-legged for a long period. It does not allow your body to sink like ordinary mattresses or foam cushions, giving you a firm base to perform yoga, meditation or even if you are an Indian singer or musician who has to practise long hours in a sitting position. Also you could just throw it around in your living room as an additional seat.

A super sturdy product, well designed and stitched. Excellent buffer for one's knees and ankles during long meditation sits. I also have a circular cushion from the same supplier, and they go together wonderfully. I'm grateful for the availability of such good-quality products.

I use this zabuton with a cresant shaped zafu, which together makes it very comfortable to sit for meditation/yoga. It's very sturdy and gives ample grounding. Your legs and knees get adequate cushioning so that you won't feel any pain sitting for long hours. It's really worth buying.

The mat is good but could have been better for the price which is very expensive considering buckwheat hulls are a cheap commodity, more colours for outer cover should be available, chain lock in the inside cushion to ensure no buckwheat leakage. Overall you can go for it as the size is sufficient to sit cross legged and it prevents you from sinking into the cushion. You still will have numb legs, but it's part of the process I guess. Bought it for 1600
