After reading many reviews, I decided to try these. I bought 4 of them. There was a review that mentions using Titebond wood glue, specific screws, and a strap clamp. I had to purchase those separately as I didn't have any of them on hand. Glue the joints, strap clamp the legs and then sink the upgraded screws. I did exactly what that reviewer said and these stools are SOLID! Follow that reviewers instructions and you will have any issues.Good luck.

The barstool is beautiful. However, box was in horrible shape. It had been opened and hardware packet was open and was missing 11 pieces. But...I went to Home Depot and replaced what was missing. I also googled assembly instructions. Sending it back would have been too much trouble. Anyway, barstool is really beautiful. I highly recommend it.

I have been looking for months at 30" stools and finally found the ones we'll be giving a try. I was willing to pay a lot more for ones I like, but this inexpensive design fits the bill; I wanted a sleek, contemporary look and prefer wood over metal. It took me (a handy woman in my mid fifties) about 25 minutes to assemble one. It feels sturdy and will hopefully hold up over time. There were a few minor dings from shipping, but not noticeable and I'll touch them up with a furniture pen. Although some reviewers felt the color wasn't true to the pictures, I disagree. The back and seat are dark brown (like dark chocolate) and the wood is a medium maple-ish stain. The white stitching is prominent, which I personally like; gives them a little something more than a plain leather seat and back. The padding isn't overly thick or thin. They're comfortable. Goes well with our light maple floor, but would also work with darker stained floor. I do plan to find a foot guard for the front horizontal rail, since that will take a beating over time. Even if these don't last forever, I'm thrilled with them for the look and the price while we're spending money on other areas of our new home. The reason I didn't give it five stars is as I was assembling it I noticed it said 'maximum weight 200 lbs.' on the bottom. That works for us, but it could certainly be an issue for others. Gave me pause as to how they'll hold up, but I just ordered three more. Call me crazy.UPDATE 10 YEARS LATER! I almost never come back to write an updated review but am compelled to do so because these chairs have held up AMAZINGLY for 10 years! I dare you to find something at this price point that holds up for 10 months, let alone 10 years. The seat cushions do soften up over time, but these little workhorses get daily use and I've never even had to tighten them. If you're on a budget and looking for a nice looking bar height chair, this is your buy. So impressed that I'm looking to upgrade now and will look at this brand.

Wow, china has come a long way. I received all the screws and hardware, and all the holes lined up, and the instructions are easy to understand. I assembled 3 chairs with no problems, however, I almost dinged it a star because the very very last screw when assembling the 3rd chair, the screw dropped all the way into the hole and it could not be tightened. I was very lucky I easily found my own screw that was a little larger and it worked, so I gave them a break.Packed very well, the assembled product seems solid (I hope the screws don't start unscrewing themselves later), and the cushions are VERY comfortable for what this chair is. It seems like a lot of value for a comfy solid chair.

it came with no directions and when we tried to put it together none of the holes lined up to screw pieces together.

$62 per chair and they are awesome with a few simple mods. These chairs are very nice. When building them just take a few extra steps and they are solid. First thing gets yourself some wood glue. Glue all the joints that are wood to wood. Toss out those lock washers because they just split. Get some blue or red loctite and apply to the threads. Toss out the included wood screws and get some #10 or #12 X 2” wood screws. I used #12 but #10 will fit easier. Assembly the chair with glue and machine screws. Strap the legs together tight! Then drive in the wood screws with more glue on the screws. Glue helps the screw go in too. Don’t get them too tight yet. Now take the chair to a flat surface and sit on it. Now you can tighten all the screws tight. Wipe up any glue that squeezers out and leave the strap on for a day. Chairs will be ROCK solid. No wiggle or creaking. I used a cordless ratchet and 4mm hex bit to speed up the assembly. This is the only way to build any boxed furniture. Do this to any furniture you buy!

If you are looking for brown bar stools that are 30 inches in height, look no further. And at $69 each, you will not find a better barstool. I purchased 4 of these same exact bar stools 11 years ago from Bed Bath and Beyond. I paid around $120 each for them. They have withstood the test of time now with 4 kids later. With our growing family, I decided last week it would be nice if I could find 2 more barstools to match the other 4 we have had for 11 years. I figured I would never find them but thankfully, the product label was still on the bottom of one of the barstools. I googled the info & to my surprise, I found that amazon was selling them and they were almost half the cost of what I originally paid for them 11 years ago. When they arrived, it took around 15 minutes for my husband to assemble them. No issues. These barstools are actually about 1 inch higher than the ones I purchased 11 years ago because they seem to have a little more padding.But seriously, the fabric has had no issues. You can wipe them clean easily. The wood is sturdy and they have probably been abused through the years from various crashes to the ground by kids running around and no issues.As I said, if you need a brown bar stool 30 inches tall... look no further. You will absolutely not find a better one for the price or quality.

It is cracked. Packaging was good. My guess it was cracked like that before shipping. Had not even put together when I noticed. What do I do?
