Gatsby Hair Styling Wax Matt & Hard 75g Grey

I used another brand in a silver can for years until they increased their price from ~8 per can to over $20 per can. It's wax with a light perfume. I'm just not going to pay over $20 for a can of smelly wax. I found this product as an alternative and was extremely pleased at the trade off. Not only is it priced right but it's also a superior product!

I first bought this product in 2016. I've tried plenty other brands since but always keep coming back to Gatsby Matt. Keeps my fine hair from looking greasy and I can touch/adjust it all day long and not lose any hold. I usually wear my hair longer than this, but a recent haircut really let me know how thin my 40-year-old hair is getting. Ten years later, this stuff still does great work for my noggin!

I had used the old Mandom Gatsy Wax “Mat Type Styling Wax” for years. The one in the cylindrical 80g container with 4 white lines crossing horizontally through the “WAX” logo on the front. And then they changed to a darker grey container with camo motif but luckily the product name stayed the same so it was easy to compare and I kept using it since it was the same product. Finally went to re-order and could not find any stock of these two previous containers. Mandom came out with the “Moving Rubber” series years ago and the “matte” just isn’t the same at all as the “mat type” I’m used to. Luckily, I ran into this product. It looked a bit different but I compared the ingredients and while there are slight variations, it was mostly the same on the major ingredients (the ones that appear first in the list). After using it, I can confirm that while the scent is slightly different (and it does smell nice), the feel and hold is exactly the same as what I once used. If you were a fan of the much older product, this is the one to get.

I've been using Gatsby waxes for a while now and decided to give this one a try, and I'm quite pleased. It has a great citrus fragrance that I really enjoy and have received some compliments on, and it does hold my hair in position well throughout the day. I will say though, as with some of their other strong waxes it can make hair slightly sticky and is a bit difficult to wash out. It also runs the risk where if you use just a little too much, it can weigh your hair down depending on the length. Overall, it's a solid product that gets the job done.

Honestly if you have a very thick hair this is for you it’s strong last all day but it’s strong so hair will fall off a bit so that’s why I say for only thick hair people cuz we shed ether way

I have on and off curled my moustache over the years. I had to stop while I lived in Thailand for a while because I was unable to find anything that could hold in the environment there. The high heat and humidity would ruin anything I had tried. I finally encountered a local Thai man with an excellent moustache and got him to tell me what he was using. THIS is the product he showed me. I haven’t looked back since, it goes on white and blends to nothing as it’s applied. Holds solidly and I have never since had any issues with heat or humidity ruining a perfect curl.
