Man let me tell you what, if you've never owned bone conduction headphones before, start here. Let me also tell you that if you have owned bone conduction headphones before, namely any other pair of aftershocks, don't upgrade to these. Here is the rest of my review. You know, I'm a blind person, and so when I first heard of bone conduction, I was super interested. Keeping my ears open while also hearing audio from my phone was something that sounded super cool... I could be walking down the street and hearing siri give me directions plus be aware of all traffic around me. I never even thought about using them for exercise, although I eventually figured out that they worked amazingly for that too. So anyhow, my first experience with aftershocks was their titanium headphones. I bought them, put them on, and was hooked. I would say I wore them on my head for 85% of my life from that point on. I listened to music on them as I ran at track practice. I listened to my stopwatch announce the time on them while I ran on the treadmill. I listened to guided workouts through them as I hurled myself in fifty different directions in the name of cardio. I listened to my phone tell me what bus stops I was near while riding so I would know when to pull that cord and get off. And all the while, I was still aware of everything else going on around me. Eventually mine broke, though. I had sweated so much while wearing them that the rubber pad on one of the earpieces had come unglued. But they were such an essential part of my life now that I had to order another pair. But I looked around first, and saw these. So I decided to upgrade. I purchased these during prime day, so I actually got them for $129. It was a nice bit of savings. A few days later they showed up at my door, and I opened up the box to see another box. And I was amazed. Never in my life had I seen someone package a product so well, even Apple with their iPhones. The design of the box was ingenious, the way things were placed into it was so ergonomic, it was just a great unboxing experience I'll never forget. I got the Aeropex themselves, two! magnetic chargers, a rubber carrying case, inside of which were some earplugs, and a sport belt to carry the whole shebang around. I was excited to try out the Aeropex so I stuck them on my head. And right away I noticed a difference. The titanium model was mainly composed of small square conductors that rested in front of your ears, but these earpieces seemed like they were aerodynamically designed to fit as perfectly against your face and be as unobtrusive as possible while still providing exxcellent sound. They achieved their goal for sure. The sound quality on these is a decent amount better than the older model. Just like my old pair, I never take these off. It's awesome to me how simple they make my life. I keep these on constantly, and always paired to my phone. When I get a text, I hear the notification on the Aeropex. When I get a call, I just press the multipurpose button on the left earpiece to answer it. Never even have to touch my phone. I can also just hit it again to hang up. And they last forever on one charge too, as they go to sleep if they aren't receiving any audio. But, while these things are just spectacular, I do not think they were worth the extra $70 I spent on them over another pair of titanium ones. You can get almost as good of an experience with those, so if you want to save some money, I assure you, it's entirely possible. But, if you do decide to pay for these, you will not regret it. I can't live without them. Heck I even have a wired pair that I plug into my laptop and use for hearing my screenreader in class as I take notes as I hear the professor talking at the same time. It's super cool.

First things first, I hardly EVER write reviews. Way too busy, and I don't typically care enough. Here's a short and sweet summary: if you can fit the extra $160 into this month's budget (maybe no fast food, pizza, or coffee...whatever), don't hesitate - you won't regret it. Next, here's some helpful info from the included manual: Wireless range: 10 meters (honestly, I get better range than that...I've used them from downstairs in the opposite corner of my house from my phone) Continuous play battery life: 8 hours (they must mean streaming to two devices simultaneously and nonstop, or maybe talking on the phone for 8 hours, because I wear and use it all day from 6am until around 9pm and have only charged it at night - it has never died). ...now on to why I love these things. I am a previous owner of the Trekz Titanium. I tried the Trekz Air but didn't buy them. I was waiting for a unit that handled dual Bluetooth devices and was waterproof - Aeropex was what I was waiting for. Cons: You already know this, bone conduction headphones can't replicate the amazing bass of an expensive pair of earbuds or cans. THAT SAID, when you're under water (these are waterproof) or wearing earplugs these things easily sound at least as good as a "decent" pair of headphones (like $20-40 range...more than adequate unless you are an audiophile). WITHOUT earplugs in, with open ears that are alert to your surroundings, I'd say these are the same quality "ish" of stock Apple iPhone earbuds. Maybe a bit less. PROs: 1. These have the best battery life of any wireless headphones I've used. 2. I now have a headset that simultaneously connects to my work laptop for Skype meetings and my iPhone for personal stuff. Amazing. No more multiple headsets. Mic is great. Clarity is better than my Plantronics. 3. Sound quality is great. Better than Trekz Titanium, can't speak for Air. The feeling that there is music playing that everyone else hears BUT THEY DONT is pretty amazing. I get to work or exercise to the music that keeps me going, but I don't have to worry about not being alert. No, these don't have great bass (without earplugs in). But as someone who enjoys dubstep, I can at least say I enjoy my music, still. The benefits far outweigh this minor drawback, trust me. 4. Vibration (the tickle common to bone conduction) is dramatically improved, as is sound leakage. People don't hear these things unless they are cranked. 5. Touching on something mentioned in my one and only "Con" - if you want noise cancelling headphones, it would be tough to find a better pair. Since you can wear the highest grade earplugs with these things - THEREBY *ENHANCING* THE SOUND - they effectively replace any other noise cancelling headphones. AMAZING. 6. I love, love, love the charging port. The magnetic charger just snaps into place and works - I now wish every device had a charger like this. BONUS: they give you two in the box, so you have one for home and one for work. 7. Since this is a relatively "new" technology, it's a great conversation starter, and everybody loves it. When you tell them to plug their ears (and suddenly they hear it BETTER) the facial response is like magic. ...so there you have it. I will likely not review another product for like ten or more years. But you, dear reader, I hope this pushes over the edge, if you're on the fence. These things are great. I have worn them all day, every day, since purchase (manufacturer warranty of two years btw) and they are comfortable and so convenient. Hope this helps!

2024 Update. I've now owned these for 3.5 year. In that time I've gone through a couple of them. My first pair had a bad mic from accidentally spraying hair spray in the mic. Shokz warranty replaced them. My 2nd pair I wore 16 hours a day 7 days a week for about 15 months before they shorted out and quit working. I wore them in the shower and although I tried not to get shampoo on them I did almost daily lol between my sweat, soap and hair gel getting all over it the adhesive that holds the soft outer coating on the hard plastic shell underneath came undone entirely. Sweating in Arkansas 105° Summers eventually shorted them out. I ordered another pair. The ones I wear today. I recently bought a cheap off brand go wear in the shower so they don't break on me. I've been told by Customer Service at Shokz that showering with the Aeropex or the renamed Shokz OpenRun is a no go. My wife is about to replace her first pair as they have a lose rattling in each side. It's a common failure and can br fixed by some DIY methods but we love these so much we will gladly through another $150 their way lol my wife's headphones are worn about 4 hours a day. Hers lasted her well over 3 years without issue. In 3.5 years I've gone through 2 pairs and am on my 3rd. I wear then all dang day and use them constantly. In 3.5 years I've listened to over 4000 hours of audiobooks with these headphones. I'm a massive fan. Asurian(spelling?) Offers a extended warranty for these when purchased through Amazon. I think it is well worth it. Shokz covered the first year but unless you're doing an Ironman challenge every week I doubt you have any real issues in that time. With heavy use after the 1 year mark you'll start to notice some issues. Thinks like a loose rattling or the soft cover coming unglued if you sweat and use a lot of product. I got the $20 3-year warranty so I'll eventually get another set for that $20 insurance cost lol I have run into zero other reportable issues. Buttons work great! If my wife would quit dropping hers on tile they probably wouldn't have got the rattling and had I not wore them in the shower and accidentally coated them in sweat and hair gel every day for over a year I'd have never had an issue either. If your a casual user expect these to last a long time. Oh! One final thing. The Shokz OpenRun have a different voice that speaks and I'm less fond of it than the Aeropex. It's not a big deal. Just sounds ever so slightly less clear. *Edit* I love these things more and more each day. I utterly forget I'm wearing them and I frequently don't charge them at night. Despite this I've noticed I can get at least a full 2 days worth of battery out of these. Let me be clear. I put them on at 9am in the morning before I shower and I don't take them off till about 1am at night. During that 16 hours they are connected in multipoint paring mode to my cell phone and my Nintendo Switch at all times. Of that 16 hours they are on I listen to music about 3 hours of the day and watch probably an hours worth of videos on my phone. I use them for notifications and phone calls mostly allowing me to be hands free and without bothering those around me. I answer probably 5 calls a day and talk on the phone about an hour a day and then in the evenings I listen to audio books for about 5 hours. So they are on for 16 hours connected to Bluetooth per day every day with about 10 hours of use and about 6 hours of using them solely for notifications on my phone. After doing that for 2 days without charging the battery was at 40%. The device will only tell you battery high, Battery Medium or battery low. Checking my phones Bluetooth I can see the devices battery and I've noticed it moves in 20% increments only so perhaps it was less than 40% after 32 hours of Bluetooth connection and roughly 20 hours of actual use. I've never seen them go lower and I literally do this every day. I LOVE THEM! These things rock. Seriously amazing! My only complaint is that they don't make a pair with an adjustable band. I like listening to my physics lectures while I sleep and my pillow does cause them to shift around on my head. it's so minor given I can actually wear these to bed and wakeup with them still on. My other headphones fall off or have to be set beside me and volume set just right to not wake my wife. These headphones are tremendous about not making noise for those around me. They can be heard after 2/3 volume from a very close distance. At full blast they can can be heard 10 feet away faintly. To be honest half way up the volume is seriously like jamming out! I loved these so much I ordered the Aeropex mini from BestBuy to try for a more tight fitting around the back of my head. They turned out to be slightly too small and would shift when I turned my head. (A size in the middle would be utterly fantastic. If they were adjustable there isn't a single thing I could think to complain about.) So I exchanged them for another set of the original aeropex and now I have 2! One for me and one for my wife. We got these for my birthday and my wife and I instantly fell in love with these so she got the extra pair. Anyway, I wanted something that would free up my hands while allowing me to answer calls, get notifications, listen to music/audiobooks and all without inhibiting me from experiencing the world around me. Oh and I wanted some water resistance for listening to music in the shower. I have a baby on the way and that is what lead me to find a product that would achieve everything I wanted. Bone conduction seemed to be the best choice but having never used the technology I wasn't too confident about it. So I wanted the best ones available. After much research the Aeropex was the clear winner. After wearing them from the time I wake up till I go to bed at night for a couple weeks I can already tell I'll be a lifelong fan. I literally wear them all day. From the moment I wake up, I put them on and play music while I shower. I have to turn them up high to hear clearly over the shower but I don't mind. They do vibrate the louder they get. Feels like a tingle. Some frequencies cause it more than others. I'm quite used to it now and don't mind one bit. In fact I really can't say enough good about these! They do jut out from the back of my head slightly so I angle them down and actually prefer to wear them this way now with the band down around the base of my skull instead of being horizontal to the ground. This allows me to lay down and they stay in place more efficiently when I lay down or lean back in a chair. My sunglasses stack on top of these and I can't tell it's anything other than normal. Even with a hat all 3 doesn't feel like too much. In fact I forget I'm wearing these most of the time till I get a text and I hear my notification noise come from inside my head. This is one my favorite things about the headphones actually. Turning the volume really low creates something similar to having a song stuck in your head. I can hear my music but only just slightly and it seems almost like it comes from my brain. Quite a unique experience and I love it! The battery also last substantially longer than advertised. At 1/3 volume- where I keep it usually- they last all day and after 12 hours still have over half the battery left. In fact I listened to 6 hours of an audiobook and had the headphones on and connected to my phone for 14 hours that day. Also playing music for probably 2 or 3 hours and talking on the phone for maybe an hour and after all that they were 60% battery. Haven't seen them go lower than that after a full 12 hours of use a day for the few weeks I've owned them. They are amazing. The sound quality is good. It's definitely better than an inexpensive pair of in-ear buds. Do they compare to my Beats Studio over-ear headphone in audio quality? No, but they serve an entirely different role while also being FAR more versatile. The sound quality definitely goes up substantially with earplugs, which is neat in its own right. I truly cannot complain about these headphones. I forget I'm wearing them most of the day. I love how lightweight they are. Seriously recommend them to everyone. Pricey but worth it. Seriously shaping up to be my all time favorite device purchase! Oh and I don't get why others complain about the beeps being so loud. They are set to probably 50% volume and are not that loud at all. People just like to complain I guess.

I love these. I've owned a few different bone conduction (BC) headsets in the past, with my previous favorites being several pairs of AfterShokz Trekz Air. It was the sound quality that I enjoyed the most, considering they were BC, though their detractions were the lack of a back/previous function and was sometimes a bit more prone to interference than I would have liked — but not game breaking. The Aeropex have mostly exceeded my expectations largely due to the Pros listed below and the reduced Thanksgiving pricing, as I feel the normal pricing of $150+ is higher than I'm willing to spend considering what I've experienced now that this is my second Aeropex purchase (more on that below). I say mostly exceeded because there are a few things that still don't quite knock it out of the park for me. Pros: Very comfortable, waterproof, attractive minimalist design, great battery life, and a so-so back/previous function (having it is better than not, more on that in Cons). Also the warranty servicing is top notch and made a second purchase worth it (see final Con below). Cons: The back/previous function is so-so; very love/hate. The button triple-pressing works okay enough, though getting it to successfully register 3 well-timed presses instead of 1 plus 2 more (pause and then skip forward) or 2 plus a 3rd (skip and then pause) is largely a battle that quickly turns aggravating. The margin of error feels large enough that when it comes to consistently timing the presses in order to achieve a successful reverse back action, and it often takes some concentration to do it right. The identical audible single beeps that are heard when pausing, skipping forward OR reversing back doesn't help to give the appropriate feedback to the user. This audible cue doesn't tell you whether a successful back/reverse was achieved because it's the same single beep heard as the pause tone, skip forward tone, and reverse/back tone. You're instead left having to listen to the actual audio content itself (song, audiobook, podcast) to determine its outcome. I still regularly inadvertently skip forward in an audiobook when I mean to go back, only to eventually realize that I've gone further into new book content and now have to attempt to go back twice to essentially both undo the accidental skip plus achieve the initially intended back function. Sometimes this is unsuccessful yet again and I find myself having to stop everything I'm doing to either carefully triple-press the button many times while concentrating on the timing of presses as well as the audio content's position and progress or I have to pull out the source device itself to navigate a fix manually. I think this problem could be partly alleviated by having a different tone for a successful triple-press rather than the current single beep that occurs for pause, skip, and back. Maybe a respective single beep, double beep, and triple beep? Or keep the single beep for pause and skip and have a double for back? All I know is that not having a serviceable reverse back function almost makes this game breaking depending on the main usage, especially audiobooks and podcasts. A smaller con is that while the Aeropex and my main devices are Bluetooth 5.0 or better, which is meant to provide a noticeably better signal range, my experience so far has been mixed. The range doesn't seem hardly any better than my Trekz Air, even in open space with direct line of sight between devices. But I can live with that. A final con is the lifespan of the fragile transducers enclosed within each side. You have to baby these. Don't toss them onto your counter top, don't allow the two ends to collide together when taking them off, store in their case when feasible, etc. This is my second pair of Aeropex and I'm only just now reviewing them. I bought my first pair about a year ago when they were on sale and they lasted about 6 months before I began to hear and feel a rattle in one side. Eventually it was in both sides. I like to think that I baby my electronics and am frugal about replacing them, especially when my wife tells me I'm annoyingly OCD about how I allow others to handle them. I've never had that problem with my Trekz Air pairs for the many years I've used them. Fortunately the Aeropex were registered and still under warranty and AfterShokz did a fast exchange via their website and a free shipping label. Huge kudos to them for that and a big Pro for considering this company and their products!

I work remote primarily and am on and off the phone and remote meetings throughout the day. I often times forget to take my standard earbuds out when I would get off of a call and an hour later realize it and take them out (which, if you've experienced silence for an hour due to inactive earbuds in your ears for long periods of time, you know...this gets really old/annoying) and, Murphys law, would receive a call shortly after, so I would have to put them back in my ears. And the cycle continues. If open ear devices were not an option, it wouldn't be much of an issue, and I am not complaining. But...using this bone conduction headset is the answer to this annoyance. I put these on my head when I log on in the morning and don't touch them til I log out of work (and im getting an average of 9-10 hours of heavy use before the baytery states that i need to charge soon). I DO notice that they are "there", but it's not uncomfortable or annoying at all. I just kindof get used to it. As far as sound quality, I have asked numerous people how the sound quality is, on their end and they all say it sounds great. I can hear them without any issue at all (just be aware if you are in a noisy environment, there isn't an open ear headset in the world that will "cancel" outside noise, obviously). As far as music is concerned, I do sometimes listen to music when I'm not on a call or in a meeting and these sound great. As everyone else has said, by the nature of the open ear concept, you aren't going to get super high quality music and bass with these. I'm really unsure if technology will ever be able to defy basic sound wave physics. Even if you put in the provided ear plugs, you're still going to get better, deep quality music with any middle-of-the-line earbuds. But the sound is actually prominent enough that if someone comes up to me while I'm listening to music at a relatively lowest volume, I choose to pull the headset off so that I can clearly listen to them. It's not that I can't hear them, it's more that it's distracting...kindof like the conversation is in the background of the music. I should also mention, if you want to "blast" music or calls, you will A: Feel a bit of a tickle/vibration on your temples. And B: people sitting close to you, in a quiet room, will be able to somewhat hear sounds coming from the headset. My friend says that she can hear that I'm listening to music (when the volume is turned up high) but she "can't really make out what it is". So, in conclusion, for music, these aren't Bose or Beats quality but you can still enjoy music in a relatively quiet environment. *I thought of a great idea for this: If you keep these on (for calls only) and ha e a different, better sound quality set of ear buds in, for music only, you can listen to great sounding music with your standard earbuds and pause the music when a call comes in, and since your ears are plugged, the call will have much deeper quality sound. I've tried it and it is amazing, but just more devices to use, so I haven't done thi more than once. For work (for calls and meetings) these are great and is kindof like just having the phone/meeting "in your head" and readily available at a moment to notice without having to fiddle around with earbuds or a traditional headset. As for the price: If you're using these for work (or an activity that you commonly partake in...Co sider how much you'll use them and if it's worth it to you. I use these for 8+ hours, 5 days per week...they are definitely worth the investment to me.

I've worn these on my head literally every day for almost five years. Definitely got my money's worth out of them. They worked great. Sound isn't perfect, but I mostly listen to audiobooks so they were perfect for that. I love how they keep me aware of my surroundings, not blocking me off from the world. I also love how I can stick in ear plugs and totally block out the rest of the world while still using my headphones. They're so comfortable and lightweight I sometimes forget I'm wearing them, and unobtrusive enough I don't feel self-conscious wearing them in public. Just upgraded to Shokz's latest model. Expecting great things and have not been disappointed so far.

THE GOOD: + Discreet, insofar that no one will be able to truthfully make those "turn the volume down, I can hear your music all the way over here" comments. Get rekt, Mom. + Safe. Even when listening to music at full tilt, you can still hear when you're about to be run over by a forklift or assaulted by a vicious kitten, or when your significant other is talking to you. + Socially acceptable (or at least moreso than devices that cover/fill your earholes). In my experience thus far, people seem far less put off by this device when exchanging pleasantries or engaging in customer service duties (please refer to your employee handbook regarding this device's compatibility with your supervisor's personality) compared to traditional headphones, earbuds, or AirPods. In some cases, it can even serve as a nice icebreaker. + Intimate. It puts music in your bones, man. Can't get much closer than that. Audio is crystal clear and overall of high quality (or at least as high quality as the file itself). It is a delicious experience, for lack of better terms. + Stellar battery life. On the first day of use (I did charge them overnight), I wore these non-stop from 0800 to around 1800. There was approximately an hour and half of call time, and the rest of the time was just music. Volume was at roughly 67% throughout the day, and by the time I took them off, the Bluetooth menu on my phone was reporting that my Aeropex were still above 50% battery life remaining. Granted, overall battery life will degrade over time - as it does with all rechargable devices - but this is a phenomenal starting point. Doubly so when considering how lightweight and small this device is. + Solid mic quality. Of all the headphones and headsets and earbuds I have owned over the years - and I have owned many - the Aeropex has one of the best built-in mics I have had the pleasure of using in a long while. People can actually understand what it is that I am saying during phone calls and on voicechat platforms like Discord. Maybe my excitement over this is tempered by the fact that I had absolutely no expectations for it, given that the last half a dozen devices I've owned had mics suited only for collecting dust, but still. + Thoughtful. Well, AfterShokz, I mean. They provide not one, but TWO of their fancy magnetic charge cables. No brick, but to be fair it's a safe bet that the average person has at least one standard USB receptacle somewhere in their life. THE BAD: - Yes, bone-conduction as a means of audio delivery does lose out a bit on the lower frequencies. Bass drops will not be as phat, the double-kickdrum sprees may sound less intense, and certain bassy, sexy voices may not sound quite as buttery. This is the caveat in the "overall of high quality" remark in THE GOOD section, but for me it is a tolerable caveat. - There is a voice that announces things, like general battery level, connection status, and the "POWER ON" and "POWER OFF" announcements. It is not the worst robovoice I've ever heard, but I would have much preferred a variety of beeps or other, non-vocal status indicators. For volume change or pausing audio, it does play back a simple beep, which I deeply appreciate. Some folks report that this beep is inordinately loud, but that has not been my experience. - It comes with a silicon pouch... tote... thing... which smells about as good as the milk you found on the floor this morning, which your cat regurgitated either last night or the night before. Cold, sour, slightly rancid; 10/10 do not recommend. Mine also came with a so-called Sport Belt. While it doesn't smell absolutely vile, I have approximately zero uses for it. Not necessarily a bad thing, I suppose, but it is a "waist" of materials. (I'll see myself out.) In all seriousness, go get a hardcase, or use a small cardboard box, or really anything other than the silicon odor abomination it comes with. I recommend a case from Hermitshell, which are tailoired specifically to AfterShokz products. THE UGLY × Fit may vary. I was comfortable all day (roughly 10 hours straight, for those of you not paying attention), but my coworker had to attach tiny cushions to the bits just behind the ears on his set because they were, as he put it, "a little clampy." × Sometimes they would catch on my hood when I'd be looking around, and so were shifted a bit out of place, which was mildly irritating. I've trained myself to adjust the way I look around as a result. × Amazon keeps bringing up noise cancellation, for whatever reason. Bone-conduction headphones, such as AfterShokz's Aeropex device, are open-ear devices. That is to say, they do not offer noise cancellation. In fact, the lack of noise cancellation is actually a selling point. They do ship with a pair of foam earplugs, which are quite effective in blocking out sound, but I am not about to rate the Aeropex on the noise cancellation properties of foam earplugs. Good grief, Amazon. × COVID-related mask experience may vary. With the ear straps of the mask in place first, my Aeropex sit nicely over my ears with no issue and no audio interference. With my Aeropex on first and the mask's ear straps on second, I am still comfortable and neither item is at risk of slipping or falling or otherwise vacating their place atop my ears. I exclusively use a cloth mask with a 3D-printed frame (which is basically a cup for your face), so I cannot speak to the experience one might have with, say, an M95 mask, or a rebreather, or an exclusion zone gas mask. Overall rating: 4.7/5.0 This thing is magic, as far as I'm concerned. Delicious, intimate, beautiful magic. But that's just, like, my opinion, man.

Now, let's be clear on one thing. This is a bone conduction headphone, for you "BASS Heads" who can't survive without the sonic booms in your ear canals, STEER CLEAR of this. The mechanism for bone conduction simply won't do the bass sound. It is physics. Sonic boom-mi-ness require air pressure change in a low frequency to be felt. This is a bone conduction headphone. Now that we are clear on that, let's move on to the blinding brightness of this piece of sonic tech marvel. Many reviewers can't explain why and what exactly they like about the Aftershokz Aeropex headphone, I figured this out after about 10 hours of objective listening. It is the really good production of sound in the mid to high frequency. The sounds are very good. I was listening to Unbox Therapy or Mr Lewd in Lewd After, his voice was nicely reproduced on these aeropex. I listen to songs that are more vocals and they are a joy to listen to. For music with a lot of electronic bass, it will not be able to produce the loudness for the majority of low frequency sounds. So, great for vocals, not good for bassy stuff. But that being said, you can still listen to your bassy hip hop or pop music, oh, country music would be excellent, and in exchange for the almost non-existence bass, great mid to high level sound reproduction, you get to hear your surrounding. You can get a pair of open type headphone and hear everything around you, but they are not as light weight or almost invisible (tiny) on your head, which means you can be out door and no one would look at your weird. One would buy the AfterShokz bone conduction headphone vs other bone conduction headphone because these are really good bone conduction headphone. One would get a bone conduction headphone for the following reasons: 1. Most important one - you want to keep your ear canals open so that you can hear sounds in your surrounding, like when you are at home and you want to keep your ears open so that you can hear your family calling for you, or for safety reasons, you need to be aware of your sonic environment, you don't want to cut your family off, you want to know if your co-worker just said hi behind you and needed your help, or you are out door and it is generally want to be aware of your environment. For this reason also, you would not be using these to listen to your music at a high volume, it would defeat the purpose of having these. 2. you don't want a headphone that covers your ear - over the ear headphones gets too hot too quickly, or if you get sweaty, you don't want 2 ear cups on your head to make things worse. you don't want stuff in your ear canal, it also gets hot and irritating. This is great for calls, very clear for the other caller. Super fast blue tooth connection. For my iphone 7 plus, it is recognized within 3 seconds once it is turned on, no struggle. I talk to my co-worker all the time with this on my head while my music is playing softly. Area for improvement: Adjustability - please design something to go on the ear pieces on each side so that they can achieve slightly different rest attitude on the ear. There are certain position that these ear pieces can better conduct sound, mostly in the pitch attitude, pulling up the back band, which causes the ear piece in the front to pitch down, which makes better contact, or forces the ear pieces to move closer to the bones in the ear to achieve better reception. Also, the headphone sounds better when I use my hands to bring the part behind the ear closer to my skull behind my ears, so, I tried to use a long hard and to try to pull them closer, but that was awkward, so, may be the Aftershokz engineer can come up with a variable tie band that contours the skull would be great. Battery life - this can be improve a bit more, it just lacks a bit. But I understand this might not be a good thing since it will make it heavier with a larger and longer life battery. It is really light now, I have them on for 8 hours and never feel anything on my head. They should last 8 hr non stop playing at 50% volume. What I really like about this is that since I have them on my head all day at work, music is always playing, I can just answer calls with the multi function button on the left ear piece.

$250 felt like a risky purchase but I'm happy to report that they work as advertised. Occasionally if a truck blasts by or you're running into gale force winds (we get them a lot here in Tassie) then you might struggle to hear your audio but other than that I've had no problems while running 5/10/21.1k's. Music sounds okay as well, although not as good as a decent set of earbuds, but I walk home from work at midnight a few times a week so being able to hear someone creeping behind me is more important that pristine audio :-) Tip: If it is windy just pull a buff or headband over your ears and the audio is perfect.

The audio quality on these are fantastic, and they are extremely lightweight and comfortable to wear BUT It has only been 6 months and my left ear has completely broken. I can hear something rattling around inside the casing, and there's no audio at all in that ear. For such expensive headphones I am absolutely appalled by the build quality, and for that reason I could never recommend these to anybody nor would I buy these again for myself

TLDR: it’s amazing don’t hesitate to buy I am one of those people that has music going. 24/7 and it helps regulate my mood. I now have the opportunity to have music everywhere without blocking out the world. Having this ability I get to live a life to a personal soundtrack everyday. Upon getting the box an inner box slides sideways out of a cardboard sleeve. The rest unfolds sideways with magnets. The box is very sturdy and as the product is presented very similar to the care that an Apple product is packaged. This had me impressed. Inside the box is the headset, a silicone pouch, 2 charging cables, ear plugs, and a few booklets. Keep track of the charger since it is proprietary and replacements are 28.00 on Amazon. The silicone case I feel is not useful since it is small and floppy. I really had to fold the headset up tiny and wasn’t that comfortable doing that. This headset sits in front of the little ear nub (don’t know proper term, too lazy to look up). I started to get a slight earache after 6 hours of continuous wear, so I think they are comfortable and more so for some that is going to wear just for exercise. This is when I take the opportunity to charge them. After having them off for a couple of hours the earaches are gone and I’m ready to wear them again. The sound is fantastic if you take it for what it is and not expect the quality of full over ear headphones. The bass is lacking some but I feel the clarity of sound is great. If you are an audiophile these are not for you and you will be severely disappointed. There is sound leakage if you turn it up over 3/4 but I find that for the most part 1/2 is more than enough, especially for day to day. Due to the open ear design these offer zero noise cancellation but they are not supposed to. They are meant to be the opposite of noise canceling. I am the person that believes that if it is too loud then you are too old and these go beyond what I need/want. I do wear them at work, shopping, figure skating, and generally everywhere. My opinion is high and recommend them for anyone that needs to hear their surroundings yet wants music. Runners, bikers, or urban area residents will benefit from these. I just can’t say enough great things.

Delighted with my new AfterShokz Aeropex Sport. I don't like earbuds and I've had no luck with over ear headphones in the Swedish weather. They either get destroyed by sweat or the rain, irrespective of the ip rating or cost. The after shocks are a lot easier to wear under a hat during cold weather and cap when it's hot.
