Great tasting water at your fingertips.
I finally got tired of going down to the local water station and filling up 5 gallon water jugs and broke down and bought a water filtration system for under the cabinet. I will admit, I had a little trepidation because I don’t generally like dealing with plumbing, but the installation for this system was extremely easy, and the instructions are very accurate and easy to follow. This WATERDROP unit fit very nicely under our kitchen sink. I even added a small water pressure tank as well as a mineralization filter and it didn’t take up half the space under our sink. Some things to consider when installing the system on your own or any system for that matter. You’ll need to know where your main water shut off is or at least have the ability to shut the cold water off under your sink because you will be tying into the cold water line under your sink. You’ll need an electrical outlet to plug the unit into, and you should be able to use the same one your dishwasher uses providing you have a dishwasher or garbage disposal. And a basic knowledge of plumbing will help as well but not necessary because the instructions are so easy to follow. All in all, it took me about three hours to get this installed mainly because I had to go down to the store and buy another fitting to hook up the refrigerator. We’ve had ours installed for about a month and a half to two months now and I enjoy being able to get freshwater right next to the tap at the sink. The water taste great and the filtering system seems to work very well on this unit. One thing to keep in mind, the water does not flow as fast as a regular sink faucet flows so be prepared that it takes a little bit longer to fill a glass of water up or a pitcher for example. If you think this will be a problem for you do some research and get a unit that has a faster water output. This particular unit has the digital display on the front, which will tell you when your filters need to be replaced. The manual says the filters have to be replaced every 6 to 12 months depending on the filter, but that could be different in your area based on how hard or soft your water is. As you can see from the picture below, the unit itself fits nicely underneath the sink, but all of the 1/4 inch tubing does look messy and I still need to get in there and try to make it a little neater. The tubing is somewhat rigid, so it doesn’t just lay on the bottom of your cabinet and kind of goes where it wants to go, so you may have to come up with a way to hook it to the wall or gently zip tie them together to make it a little neater. Also, it may seem like all of those plastic connectors wouldn’t work well or might fail, but honestly, once you push the tubing into those connectors, I’ve had no leaks whatsoever. Everything is nice and tight and secure. Plus it has the little blue locking rings that you put around the end of each connector to hold the tubing inside them so don’t be worried about that. All in all this is an excellent purchase and I’m really glad we got it. Having clean tasting water right from the faucet or the refrigerator is so much better than filling up ten 5 gallon water jugs twice a month. Don’t let this project seem overwhelming to you, with a few tools and the ability to read the instructions you’ll have it installed in no time.

A good filter to clean water, great support
Several years ago, we upgraded our kitchen sink and added a water filter. After researching, we found the WaterDrop series with contained RO filters. The best part was its simple overall design. It’s a single unit with all the filters built-in, requiring only three connections to the water source and power. There’s no external pressure tank or tangled hose connections between components. Filters are easy to change with a simple twist to remove. We purchased a G3 unit, which worked well until we decided to upgrade for higher water flow. The G3 was rated at about 300-400 gallons per day. We then saw the WaterDrop G3P600 and felt it was an ideal upgrade since it used the same filters as our previous unit. We knew the RO filter would need replacing in a few months, so we waited until then to install the new unit. Swapping it out was very simple. In my opinion, the hardest part was installing the faucet. There’s rarely enough space behind the sink to reach up and work with the nuts that hold it in place. I completed the swap in about an hour, and everything was working fine—no leaks in the water lines. A few weeks later, my leak detector went off, and I noticed water under the unit. I contacted support since it was still under warranty. I emailed WaterDrop Customer Service, and Rosie C. responded. This prompted several follow-up emails to verify connections and other details. After trying various solutions, it became clear there was an internal leak and that a new or rebuilt unit was needed. Rosie then shipped a replacement unit to swap with the broken one. I waited for transportation and USPS, and the new unit arrived about a week later. Throughout the process, Rosie periodically checked in to see how things were going. As I write this, the unit has been running smoothly for about two weeks. I still inspect it daily and keep it on a sheet tray, just in case. I’ll probably keep it that way to catch any leaks early and avoid damage to the cabinet. In summary: I am very satisfied with the G3P600 and the support I received from WaterDrop in resolving the issue. I hope this unit lasts longer than the four years our original one served us. It’s a good product, offers excellent after-sales support, and is reasonably priced for clean water. Highly recommended for product value and support. Ed. Note: These are my personal opinions based on units I purchased. I have not been given a unit to test or reimbursed for my time.

Quality, Fast, small, nice-looking
The Waterdrop G3P800 is a great water filter! It is a lot easier to install and takes up much less space then the tanked filter. The "800" not only delivers water faster than the G3P600, but also has a UV light to kill bacteria. And "Waterdrop's" customer service was excellent! I had a leak in the 2nd system I ordered and contacted Amazon for a replacement. After two months Amazon hadn't shipped the replacement. I contacted Waterdrop directly, spoke with Doreen, and my unit was quickly replaced with no issues! Excellent communication with Doreen! 😀 3 Stars for Amazon. 5 Stars for Waterdrop! If you have alot of money and want the best, look at Waterdrop's X12 or X16 models. But the G3P800 filters just as good and is cheaper.

Compact, easy to install and efficient
The cleanest H2O you can get is by distilling water, but this is pricey in the long run, so we had to look at the other options. With our utility rates running a distiller for about 8 hours in 24 hour period would cost us over $100 per month plus it is noisy and makes kitchen hotter. TDS of our tap water would run between 138 and 148 depending on season and we knew that even filtered water using a 0.5 micron filter would leave sludge at the bottom of distiller, so our water had a lot of dissolved solids in it after filtering. All this prompted us to look at the RO system and I'm glad we did. Top of the counter RO didn't make much sense as we would need to deal with all the tank filling and emptying. Tank based under sink system also wouldn't work too well because of volume limitations and space requirements, so we had to look at the tankless RO and G3P600 by Waterdrop seems to offer best performance for the money ratio, suitable for most households. In order to get the system installed I had to install electric outlet under sink and drill a hole in my stone countertop, but these issues aside, installation was easy and went without any snags. This system is fairly compact and we were able to keep most of the kitchen supplies that we normally kept under sink. After initial flushing the TDS shown on the tap screen was ranging from. 4 to 6, but when measured using a separate meter it was showing 25 ppb. Still very respectable. For comparison, TDS reading of our tap water was 140 and distilled water was 4. Water produced by Waterdrop RO tastes more like spring water, definitely harder than distilled and pH value confirms that too. For the RO system stable pH value after 3 minutes was 7.4 and for the distilled water it was 6.9. Distilled water is slightly more acidic, this is a known fact, because of no dissolved minerals in it. I expect annual costs of RO system to run between $120 and $150 which is a significant improvement over $1200 doing daily water distilling. Hope it is going to serve me at least 5 years of service time! Update: After two months of steady use, about 5 gallons a day, our TDS reading on RO system display and testing using a third party tester matches and is about 4 to 6 PPM that is excellent! Our Zojirushi "samovar" (hot water tank) didn't require cleaning so far indicating a really clean water. But the main benefit is convenience. Having clean water on tap as needed not having to wait for distillation cycle to complete is really an improvement in quality of life!

Well Designed, East to Install, Great Tasting Water
We live by the sea in an old community in an area with very high particulates in the water system. The water also smells like chlorine. We have always bought bottled water, but with the Pandemic, our grocery load started to become unmanageable as we cut down on the number of trips we made to the store. We started to drink the tap water and almost immediately decided it was time to try out a water filter. RESEARCH I did a lot of investigation, and by a long shot, the WaterDrop products represent the best designs on the market: - the forward-facing filters are as easy to replace as a refrigerator filter. - the tankless design means you don't lose much undersink space (Image1) - the tankless design also means there's no opportunity for bacteria to grow in the holding tank - the smart faucet (the led ring around the base) conveys the state of the filters - blue is good, yellow means you're due for a change and red means you should change a filter immediately - the WD-G3 display not only tells you the state of the water in Total Dissolved Solids (TDS), but also shows you the state of each of the filters (blue/yellow/red) so you know which one to order. - the brushed nickel finish matches our faucet and looks great (Image 1) - the 12 second time-to-fill an 8 oz glass is good Everything about this unit screams "quality". The instructions are simple and easy to follow. The 800 number is listed on the cover of the installation guide. Each part feels solid and well-made. INSTALLATION There is one challenge that most homeowners will probably face to using this unit -- it requires power under the sink. I had a socket under my sink that the garbage disposal was plugged into. I assumed (you can see where this is going!) that as is traditional, the upper socket was wired to the disposal switch and the lower was always hot. Unfortunately, living in an older home, this was not the case, so I had to replace the socket with a split/switched/always hot one. Our garbage disposal unit is huge, and our sink is in the corner of the kitches with one small door, so it needed to be removed to facilitate the install. Between the disposal deinstall/reinstall and and the rewiring job, installation took me all day. HOWEVER - The actual installation of the Waterdrop unit was approximately 40 minutes of this, so plan accordingly. I had one minor issue with the waste pipe connection, which is designed for 1.5" pipe (we have 2" pipes, but the pipe coming out of the garbage disposal was 1.5" with just enough space to connect the waste line). All of the lines are thoughtfully unique - there are two white lines, but of different sizes (one goes from the water source, one goes to the spigot) and the waste water is red, so you can't get confused. The connections are all pretty easy, although you should pay attention to the "Push the locking ring" instructions so you don't accidentally break one of the shipping plugs when removing them. The locking ring collars are a bit fussy and require a needle nose pliers to install. Other than my own personal challenges of a small under-sink space and the electrical issue, the installation was a breeze. WATER QUALITY So, the big question -- does it work? The answer is YES! See the second the image. I used an independent water meter to measure the TDS. On a sample from a bathroom spigot I got 99. This is pretty typical, we run around 90 to 120. Measuring the water from the filtering system shows 12. The reading on the front of the unit showed in the mid 70's during startup, but now shows 5. Given the somewhat wonky nature of water testing, I'm good with these numbers even though they differ slightly. The WD-G3 reduced the TDS in our water by an order of magnitude. This is exactly what you would expect from an RO system that should filter out about 90% of all TDS. This translates to a better tasting, safer glass of water, which it produces in about 12 seconds (8 oz). Not only does the water taste better, our coffee and anything else we used water in also tastes better. While the difference is not as evident at room temperature, you can really tell the difference in a side-to-side test of chilled water. We tested tap vs filtered vs Poland Spring bottled. At room temperature, they are all pretty much the same, with Poland Spring being slightly saltier. We tested the TDS on Poland Spring and it was at 41, confirming that there's some mineralization going on there. In chilled form, the filtered tasted the best, with Poland spring second and the unfiltered third. (And yes, to answer your question, my wife is now laughing at me because of my obsession with metrics and blind taste tests) FILTER REPLACEMENT/CUSTOMER SERVICE As some other reviewers have notes, the "CF" filter seems to be in very short supply and cannot even be purchased on the Waterdrop site. I contacted Waterdrop customer service who responded (on a weekend!) that the filters will be back in stock at the end of this month. SUMMARY Pros: - Does what it says, reduces TDS by a factor of 9-10 - Produces clear, clean water - Interface is intelligent and intuitive - Tankless design saves space and eliminates post-filter bacteria issues - Looks great - Responsive customer service Cons: - Requires un-switched power under the sink - The CF Filter replacement is currently unavailable. Recommendation: The CF shortage is worrying, hopefully Waterdrop will be able to solve this issue. It's a Pandemic so I'm willing to give them some leeway in supply chain challenges. I decided to take the plunge anyway and given the alternatives, this is still the best unit on the market.

Nice water filter system.
The water after filter is very soft, which can be seen on the faucet. It tastes just like bottled water. It is not hard to install the system. One big task is to drill a hole on the drainage pipe under the sink. Other tasks are smooth. I like it. It is 1:2 of good and waste so not that bad. Wish I can collect the waste water for my lawn. It is a fancy water filter system. The only reason I give it a 4 star is the cost of the filters. One thing to notice is, after it is newly installed, the water pour would flush out some carbon particles. Be careful not to drink it. After about 5 days, I stopped seeing those.

Easy install, compact, easy to replace filters, live reading of TDS on unit
I had a great experience with my Waterdrop filtration system. I installed it myself, and while it took about 2.5 hours, that included replacing my faucet. The installation itself was straightforward, and the instructions were clear and easy to follow. I chose not to use the faucet that came with the kit since it would have required drilling another hole in my granite countertop, but that didn’t affect the install at all. After setup, I ran the water for 30 minutes as recommended. About two weeks later, I tested the water with a third-party tester. My tap water was around 550 TDS. The unit’s display showed about 20, but my filtered water was initially measuring between 150–250 TDS. I reached out to customer support, and they were very helpful walking through troubleshooting steps. They determined it might be a faulty filter and quickly sent a replacement at no cost, which arrived the next day. After installing the new filter and running the water for just a couple of minutes, my filtered water dropped to about 12 TDS—right where expected it should be. Excellent customer service and a great product overall. I would definitely recommend Waterdrop to others.

Great filter
Space saving and very easy to install. Great tasting water and completely eliminates the chlorine smell. The only issue I have is the filtered water slightly pulsates even though I have great water pressure, frizzlife pressure tank could not eliminate it and dispensing low flow water does not turn the digital screen on. I was sent a new one but it has the same issue. Customer service was very helpful and offered money back but I prefer to keep it since I am very satisfied with the end product that comes out.

Easy to install, but false advertising
First of all: installation and maintenance is very easy. Here in Surrey this filter gives me 15 TDS which is not perfect for aquarium. But the worst thing is that the TDS meter is a joke. I have my own TDS meter and it is in line with this build in for the most of the time, besides when filter needs to be replaced. Inbuilt TDs meter was showing 16 ppm, mine 300 - tap water is here arround 350! After exchanging the CF filter, AND flushing it was lower and lower TDS measured by my TDs meter, but the inbuilt was showing 15 all the time !!!! Moreover, I assume these filter change alarms are automatic - like programmed for a period of time .. :( I will buy a PROPER RO filter after moving to another house. This one is OK for drinking. Build quality 5/5, ease of use 5/5. Filtering 2/5. Overall 3/5. Not recommended for aquarium use.

Excellent water filter
Easy to install and works great. Had an issue after installation (our mistake) and customer service was incredibly responsive and helpful and even followed up to ensure it was corrected. Water is much cleaner and better tasting than with our old tank RO filter. Output is slower than with a tank, but not by much. Very happy with the unit!
