Waterdrop G3P600 Reverse Osmosis System, 600 GPD Tankless RO Water Filter

I finally got tired of going down to the local water station and filling up 5 gallon water jugs and broke down and bought a water filtration system for under the cabinet. I will admit, I had a little trepidation because I don’t generally like dealing with plumbing, but the installation for this system was extremely easy, and the instructions are very accurate and easy to follow. This WATERDROP unit fit very nicely under our kitchen sink. I even added a small water pressure tank as well as a mineralization filter and it didn’t take up half the space under our sink. Some things to consider when installing the system on your own or any system for that matter. You’ll need to know where your main water shut off is or at least have the ability to shut the cold water off under your sink because you will be tying into the cold water line under your sink. You’ll need an electrical outlet to plug the unit into, and you should be able to use the same one your dishwasher uses providing you have a dishwasher or garbage disposal. And a basic knowledge of plumbing will help as well but not necessary because the instructions are so easy to follow. All in all, it took me about three hours to get this installed mainly because I had to go down to the store and buy another fitting to hook up the refrigerator. We’ve had ours installed for about a month and a half to two months now and I enjoy being able to get freshwater right next to the tap at the sink. The water taste great and the filtering system seems to work very well on this unit. One thing to keep in mind, the water does not flow as fast as a regular sink faucet flows so be prepared that it takes a little bit longer to fill a glass of water up or a pitcher for example. If you think this will be a problem for you do some research and get a unit that has a faster water output. This particular unit has the digital display on the front, which will tell you when your filters need to be replaced. The manual says the filters have to be replaced every 6 to 12 months depending on the filter, but that could be different in your area based on how hard or soft your water is. As you can see from the picture below, the unit itself fits nicely underneath the sink, but all of the 1/4 inch tubing does look messy and I still need to get in there and try to make it a little neater. The tubing is somewhat rigid, so it doesn’t just lay on the bottom of your cabinet and kind of goes where it wants to go, so you may have to come up with a way to hook it to the wall or gently zip tie them together to make it a little neater. Also, it may seem like all of those plastic connectors wouldn’t work well or might fail, but honestly, once you push the tubing into those connectors, I’ve had no leaks whatsoever. Everything is nice and tight and secure. Plus it has the little blue locking rings that you put around the end of each connector to hold the tubing inside them so don’t be worried about that. All in all this is an excellent purchase and I’m really glad we got it. Having clean tasting water right from the faucet or the refrigerator is so much better than filling up ten 5 gallon water jugs twice a month. Don’t let this project seem overwhelming to you, with a few tools and the ability to read the instructions you’ll have it installed in no time.

We live by the sea in an old community in an area with very high particulates in the water system. The water also smells like chlorine. We have always bought bottled water, but with the Pandemic, our grocery load started to become unmanageable as we cut down on the number of trips we made to the store. We started to drink the tap water and almost immediately decided it was time to try out a water filter. RESEARCH I did a lot of investigation, and by a long shot, the WaterDrop products represent the best designs on the market: - the forward-facing filters are as easy to replace as a refrigerator filter. - the tankless design means you don't lose much undersink space (Image1) - the tankless design also means there's no opportunity for bacteria to grow in the holding tank - the smart faucet (the led ring around the base) conveys the state of the filters - blue is good, yellow means you're due for a change and red means you should change a filter immediately - the WD-G3 display not only tells you the state of the water in Total Dissolved Solids (TDS), but also shows you the state of each of the filters (blue/yellow/red) so you know which one to order. - the brushed nickel finish matches our faucet and looks great (Image 1) - the 12 second time-to-fill an 8 oz glass is good Everything about this unit screams "quality". The instructions are simple and easy to follow. The 800 number is listed on the cover of the installation guide. Each part feels solid and well-made. INSTALLATION There is one challenge that most homeowners will probably face to using this unit -- it requires power under the sink. I had a socket under my sink that the garbage disposal was plugged into. I assumed (you can see where this is going!) that as is traditional, the upper socket was wired to the disposal switch and the lower was always hot. Unfortunately, living in an older home, this was not the case, so I had to replace the socket with a split/switched/always hot one. Our garbage disposal unit is huge, and our sink is in the corner of the kitches with one small door, so it needed to be removed to facilitate the install. Between the disposal deinstall/reinstall and and the rewiring job, installation took me all day. HOWEVER - The actual installation of the Waterdrop unit was approximately 40 minutes of this, so plan accordingly. I had one minor issue with the waste pipe connection, which is designed for 1.5" pipe (we have 2" pipes, but the pipe coming out of the garbage disposal was 1.5" with just enough space to connect the waste line). All of the lines are thoughtfully unique - there are two white lines, but of different sizes (one goes from the water source, one goes to the spigot) and the waste water is red, so you can't get confused. The connections are all pretty easy, although you should pay attention to the "Push the locking ring" instructions so you don't accidentally break one of the shipping plugs when removing them. The locking ring collars are a bit fussy and require a needle nose pliers to install. Other than my own personal challenges of a small under-sink space and the electrical issue, the installation was a breeze. WATER QUALITY So, the big question -- does it work? The answer is YES! See the second the image. I used an independent water meter to measure the TDS. On a sample from a bathroom spigot I got 99. This is pretty typical, we run around 90 to 120. Measuring the water from the filtering system shows 12. The reading on the front of the unit showed in the mid 70's during startup, but now shows 5. Given the somewhat wonky nature of water testing, I'm good with these numbers even though they differ slightly. The WD-G3 reduced the TDS in our water by an order of magnitude. This is exactly what you would expect from an RO system that should filter out about 90% of all TDS. This translates to a better tasting, safer glass of water, which it produces in about 12 seconds (8 oz). Not only does the water taste better, our coffee and anything else we used water in also tastes better. While the difference is not as evident at room temperature, you can really tell the difference in a side-to-side test of chilled water. We tested tap vs filtered vs Poland Spring bottled. At room temperature, they are all pretty much the same, with Poland Spring being slightly saltier. We tested the TDS on Poland Spring and it was at 41, confirming that there's some mineralization going on there. In chilled form, the filtered tasted the best, with Poland spring second and the unfiltered third. (And yes, to answer your question, my wife is now laughing at me because of my obsession with metrics and blind taste tests) FILTER REPLACEMENT/CUSTOMER SERVICE As some other reviewers have notes, the "CF" filter seems to be in very short supply and cannot even be purchased on the Waterdrop site. I contacted Waterdrop customer service who responded (on a weekend!) that the filters will be back in stock at the end of this month. SUMMARY Pros: - Does what it says, reduces TDS by a factor of 9-10 - Produces clear, clean water - Interface is intelligent and intuitive - Tankless design saves space and eliminates post-filter bacteria issues - Looks great - Responsive customer service Cons: - Requires un-switched power under the sink - The CF Filter replacement is currently unavailable. Recommendation: The CF shortage is worrying, hopefully Waterdrop will be able to solve this issue. It's a Pandemic so I'm willing to give them some leeway in supply chain challenges. I decided to take the plunge anyway and given the alternatives, this is still the best unit on the market.

Our City water is TERRIBLE. It is processed well water with some saltwater intrusion. Our water tests 358 TDS with the numbers flashing in red on my test unit. The taste is horrible. I have had average RO systems that normally become out dated with filters being hard to find as was my last RO system. The filters are now foreign knockoffs that sometimes don't even flow as was my last set. Not to mention the TDS are much higher with knockoff filters. That was the second time having problems with filter orders. I sent this set back, removed the entire RO system and went on the search for the best home RO system. All of the review sites I looked at, Waterdrop was #1. Yes, it was almost double the prices, but I have learned over the years, when it come to RO systems, "you get what you pay for". The Waterdrop was much easier than any RO system I have installed with better instructions. I no longer have a mess under the sink when changing filter, a HUGE plus. I no longer have to remove everything under the sink to get to the filters. just twist and replace from the front of the unit. No more guessing when it is time to change filters, or constantly having to test the water. No more guess which filter needs to be changed, not sure so, I'll buy both. The Waterdrop states what filter needs to be changed, no more guessing. Getting rid of the huge tank was another big plus. No more waiting for the tank to refill when filling the coffee pot. With the Waterdrop built in pump, the same flow constantly. The waste ratio on my last RO system was 4 gallons of waste water to one gallon drinkable. Now I am at a 1 to 1 ratio. Our water bills are triple of what the use to be, so another savings. My water went from 358 TDS to 1 on the first couple of day. On day 3, I have moved up to 2 TDS and the water tastes better than any RO system I have ever owned. I also installed a sediment filter before the Waterdrop. A $4. sediment filter is much cheaper than changing the more expensive RO sediment filter. Our City water has a lot of sediment so a pre-filter is a good investment. I just purchased 6 sediment filters for the price of 1 Waterdrop sediment filter. That should extend the life of the Waterdrop filter. The Waterdrop is an investment I should have made years ago. With the cabinet doors close, I don't even notice the pump noise others have mentioned. Our bottle water cooler, that we will be getting rid of, can be heard more than the Waterdrop.

I purchased the Waterdrop G3P600 in May 2025 and have loved it ever since. The water tastes great, and changing the filters is incredibly easy. Recently, I noticed a change in taste and contacted customer support. I was impressed that I spoke with a real person when I called. Doreen was wonderful and very helpful. After troubleshooting, we determined that my new mouthwash, not the filtration system, causing the taste difference. Even so, Doreen sent me a free carbon filter! From the excellent water quality to the outstanding customer service, I highly recommend this system. Five stars!

This is my long-term review of the Waterdrop reverse osmosis system after two years of daily use. I purchased this unit in July 2024, and I recently received the notification to replace the RO main filters, making this a good time to share my overall experience. Before buying this system, I used a FizzyLife reverse osmosis unit for almost 2 years. While it generally worked well, I was never completely satisfied with the filter replacement reminders. The display notifications didn't always match the replacement schedule recommended in the manual, which made it difficult to know when the filters actually needed changing. One of the reasons I switched to Waterdrop was its certifications and reputation, which gave me greater confidence in the system. I purchased the Waterdrop system during a sale, which made the higher price easier to justify. When it arrived, I was surprised by its size, it is big but it still fit comfortably under my kitchen sink. As a DIY enthusiast, I installed the system myself. The installation instructions were clear, and the online videos were very helpful. Anyone with basic plumbing and DIY experience should be able to complete the installation. The only challenging part was installing the dedicated faucet. Unlike many reverse osmosis systems that use a smaller mounting hole, this faucet required a larger opening. Since my sink is made of thick stainless steel, enlarging the hole took the most time and effort. Aside from that, installation was straightforward. Over the past two years, the system has performed very well. The filter replacement reminders have been accurate and have matched the recommended replacement schedule, which was one of the biggest improvements over my previous system. The unit operates quietly, and I even uploaded a video so buyers can hear the operating noise for themselves. It is noticeable during operation but never loud enough to be bothersome. Performance has been excellent. Water flow is fast enough to fill glasses and pitchers without long waits, and the water tastes clean, fresh, and crisp. This has become our primary source of drinking water. We use it for cooking, making coffee and tea, preparing baby formula, and providing drinking water for our family. I have been very satisfied with the quality of the filtered water. One feature I have mixed feelings about is the automatic flushing function. While I appreciate that it helps maintain the membrane and overall system performance, it will activate when only a small amount of water has been used, which may surprise some users. I understand why the feature exists, but it can be a little inconvenient at times as it will use water to flash. My biggest criticism is the long-term maintenance cost. The replacement filters are noticeably more expensive than many competing reverse osmosis systems. When choosing an RO system, it's important to consider not only the purchase price but also the ongoing cost of replacement filters. Over several years, those costs can add up significantly. Overall, I have been very happy with the performance, reliability, and water quality of this Waterdrop system. However, if I were purchasing another reverse osmosis system today, I would pay much closer attention to the long-term filter costs and compare them with competing brands. While this is an excellent product that has served my family well, the higher maintenance cost makes it harder to absolutely recommend without reservation. If you can purchase the unit on sale and are comfortable with the replacement filter prices, I think you'll be very satisfied with its performance.

After doing a lot of research on water filtration systems, I decided on the Waterdrop G3P600, and I couldn't be happier with my choice. Knowing it reduces things like PFAS while providing clean, great tasting water gives me real peace of mind every time I fill a glass. I also love the tankless design. It saves so much space under the sink compared to traditional reverse osmosis systems, and the sleek smart faucet with the LED filter indicator is a nice touch. The water flow is surprisingly fast, so I'm not standing there waiting to fill a glass or coffee pot. The water tastes fantastic. Coffee tastes better, ice cubes are crystal clear, and I find myself drinking more water simply because it tastes so clean. Installation was straightforward, and the entire system feels very well made. If you're on the fence because of the price, I look at it as an investment in my family's health. Between the water quality, space saving design, and overall performance, I think it's worth every penny. This is one of those purchases that you don't fully appreciate until you start using it every day. I would absolutely buy it again.

This is an excellent filter option for someone who wants to maintain under sink storage and wants a system that’s very easy to install and maintain. This system is also very quiet and puts out plenty of water pressure. There are a couple Negative Nancie’s in the reviews here complaining about the motor noise being “disturbing” or “unpleasant”. That’s absolutely absurd. This system is very quiet, very quick, and not intrusive of normal day to day life what so ever. The noise they complain about is a very subtle hum that goes off every so often to keep the system primed and with fresh water. You actually have to have zero life problems for that to be an issue. The hum is as quiet as a mouse. This system is incredible for the money that you pay. Save yourself some time, hassle, and the inevitable growth of bacteria and mold from other systems. Get this one, you’ll be extremely happy you did. Just for reference, I live in Houston and have no water softeners or filters in my house, this thing never passes 10 on the filter scale. This thing is the bees, no leaks either. I’ve run this system for the past 3 months. So yes, I’ve had some time with it.

I just bought the G3P600. The installation was easy enough as long as you're agile enough to work under a kitchen sink. I have to say I was impressed with the engineering of the product and the installation directions were quite good. The little water supply valve is quite ingenious and allows you to install it on existing cold water valves of varying sizes with ease. The water supply valve has a very effective shut off valve for just the unit water supply independent of always having to shut off water supply to the whole unit. I just had to close the main valve long enough to attach their included water supply valve. I did have a small glitch in the installation however which I will describe so if anyone else runs into the same issue, it may be helpful for them to remedy. The instructions emphasize that when inserting the tubing into the back of the unit, to be sure to push them in to the receiver all the way up to the factory drawn marker line. By my measurement it is an about 7/8". My installation went very well right up to the point of inserting the tubing into the back of the unit. When I attempted to install the white supply water line, I could not get it to fully insert to save my life. (about a 1/4" short) Mistakenly I assumed that I had got it in far enough and it would be good enough. Not so. When I turned on the water supply and plugged in the unit. It ran for about 30 seconds and I got a lot of leaking coming from the white tubing area at the back of the unit. The other two tubes went in with no problem. I used a drop of dish soap on my fingers to lube the tube ends and they went in without a hitch. I called their customer service and he stated that the tubing had to go all the way down and he described the inner parts that hold the tubing. It was tough to get the tubing out even though it was in only partially. Their gripper mechanism works really well. To get the tubing out, one has to remove the little blue lock ring and use a very small screwdriver to lift out the white plastic outer ring (the gripper). Ultimately I had to take some needle nose pliers and pinch the tubing and wrench it out. The CS rep described to me that there a small black double O-ring down inside the receiver. I noticed that once the plastic gripper was removed that the double 0-ring seemed to be askew in the receiver. It apparently became dislodged from its proper place when I tried to insert the white tubing. The double o-ring is not two separate rings but a single unit with two 0-ring shapes apparently manufactured as one unit. I took it out and saw there is a small circular groove inside the receiver where the o-ring is supposed to sit. It took several tries but I managed to get the o-ring back in the proper place, reinserted to white plastic gripper, recut a fresh square tube end. This time I pre-lubed the end of the tubing and it went in all the way and seated properly. After that I turned the water back on and plugged in the unit and it worked perfectly with NO leaks. The moral of the story here is if you can't get the tubing to seat as they describe, DON'T assume you have a good seat on all the tubing and proceed to charge the unit. I think what happened to me is the o-ring became dislodged from its proper position and got underneath the tubing end and that is why I was never able to get it to fully insert; I was hitting the o-ring and there was never a proper seal. This was one tiny glitch in the whole installation for me. Otherwise it was quite simple and their included parts was all I needed to install the whole system, which is now working beautifully. MORAL, MAKE SURE ALL THREE TUBES ARE FULLY SEATED AT THE BACK OF THE UNIT OR FIND OUT THE REASON WHY BEFORE TURNING ON THE WATER AND PLUGGING IT IN. Still 5 stars on the quality and operation of the unit.

We were torn between buying a cheaper RO system with a tank, and this on demand model. I'm so glad we opted for the Waterdrop. The install was as easy as the instructions/instructional video, except we had to modify our counter a bit. When they installed our marble countertop, they put a 3/4" layer of plywood underneath where the faucets are, which meant the Waterdrop faucet wouldn't fit. We had to drill out some of the wood, but once that was done, it went smoothly. The water tastes so good, much better than other RO systems we've used. I read that sometimes the filters are hard to find as they're often on backorder, but I ordered some from Walmart online to ensure I have a year's worth of filters on hand. Very happy with this RO system!

First of all: installation and maintenance is very easy. Here in Surrey this filter gives me 15 TDS which is not perfect for aquarium. But the worst thing is that the TDS meter is a joke. I have my own TDS meter and it is in line with this build in for the most of the time, besides when filter needs to be replaced. Inbuilt TDs meter was showing 16 ppm, mine 300 - tap water is here arround 350! After exchanging the CF filter, AND flushing it was lower and lower TDS measured by my TDs meter, but the inbuilt was showing 15 all the time !!!! Moreover, I assume these filter change alarms are automatic - like programmed for a period of time .. :( I will buy a PROPER RO filter after moving to another house. This one is OK for drinking. Build quality 5/5, ease of use 5/5. Filtering 2/5. Overall 3/5. Not recommended for aquarium use.

“TDS Creep”, algo que deben saber todos los interesados en filtros de Ósmosis Inversa (RO), algo es natural y parte de la física de tales filtros. Excelente sistema, reducción a 2.7% de los TDS totales del agua de mi casa (740 ppm)… logrando de 18 a 25 ppm sin problema, muy por debajo de los 50’s mínimos recomendados para la salud ** (50-150 ppm) Mejor que los 5-15% que asegura Waterdrop en sus especificaciones Sin contar con el costo original del sistema… el costo por año es menor que el costo de comprar agua embotellada de “marcas conocidas”, y mejor calidad de agua que estas pues los 18 a 25 ppm que tengo son inferiores que los 60 a 80 ppm de dichos proveedores de agua, agua que suele tapar los filtros de los refrigeradores… no digo mas. El único inconveniente es el mencionado “TDS Creep”, efecto que sucede en las membranas de los filtros de Ósmosis Inversa… que sin flujo positivo (reposo, sin uso) el lado sucio se infiltra al lado limpio del sistema, ocasionando que el primer flujo de agua limpia luego de horas de descanso tenga una cantidad muy grande de TDS (140 ppm en mi caso). En sistemas con tanque esto no se sufre tanto pues el agua sucia (salmuera) se diluye con la previamente filtrada en el tanque… pero en sistemas sin tanque esto no es el caso, y la única manera de corregir es lavar el flujo por algunos segundos (30-40s en mi caso) para obtener agua realmente pura. Nota: mi sistema venia empacado con los filtros por separado… y aun así luego de semanas de uso el filtro RO fugó agua, filtrándose a través del chasis del sistema hasta el piso donde esta instalado… y para variar se corrigió quitando el filtro y volviéndolo a instalar. Mi hogar recibe agua de 740 ppm, y mi sistema hidráulico provee 50 a 65 psi de presión, para buenas o malas estas variables cuentan
