How do know when it’s on

I know it's difficult to tell when you first get your new lights.The rubber 'press' button on the back of the solar panel isn't very clear. So, I pressed it, put it in the sun and waited to see if the lights came on at night. When they didn't, I pressed it again and they came on at night. It was the only way I could tell unfortunately as it isn't very clear. I love my pond lights and they last for ever, well almost. I cut the cable with my shears on my first lot so had to buy some more. They are well worth buying and transform my pond at night. Hope this helps

Lights come on about 10:30 pm. How can I get them to come on earlier?

There must be a light or garden lamp that is near to the solar panel. Put a bag over the solar panel and the lights will come on.
