Very, very nice grow light
Light arrived well packaged and no damage. What a difference in output! As you can see the one picture shows a 2 bulb T5 high output flourescent compared to the 8 row led grow light. I am very pleased with the construction, light weight aluminum frame, and quality hardware all chrome plated. Light is very thin, only 1 5/8" thick. I liked the fact that the only assembly was attaching the hang clips and hooking on the chains. So simple! I really like the 2 switches which allows you to turn on 4 rows of leds, or 8 rows. Only draw back was heavy cord tipping the light to one side. I fixed that by screwing a small eye(see picture) that I spread open just enough to hold the cord but still slide to allow for light adjustment up and down. I drilled small holes in cross bar to run chains through with a clip for easy adjustment. Word of caution, put a key ring on end of chain so if it slips out of your hand the light won't fall all the way down and smash your plants like I did with my old flourescent set up. lol

Nice light
It just came today and I have no long-term data for my review, but it was easy to set up with the supplied chains and hooks. The item was well-packaged and arrived free of damage and fully functional. My initial sense is that this will work well and give me lots of growth. You can see the balance issue in my picture that another reviewer mentioned from the heavy power cord - it pulls down on that side - but this is easily managed by attaching it to something, or by putting weight on the other side to counter-balance it.

Good value, but has issues
I’ve used several of these, going on 3 years of service (used about 50% of the time). As others have noted, the cord is heavy and will cause the unit to tilt if only suspended from the ceiling without other support or attachment. The ability to plug a second unit into the first is a nice feature. One half of the lights recently stopped working on one unit (several years old now). I suspect this is due to a bad switch, but haven’t tried to repair yet.

Fantastic grow lights
This is a fantastic grow-light! I'm starting my vegetable garden from seed this year and needed some high quality lights to keep my seedlings going. Started with some of those cheap square LED ones with purple light, but they are just too dim and too small to get the job done for the bigger, sun-loving plants. So I bought one of these - all I can say is wow! It's made really well (which I was nervous about because of mixed reviews on similar products), and SUPER bright! I can use one 1x2 light to cover THREE 1020 flats of tomato and pepper seedlings, and they are all growing like crazy! Just got my second light yesterday and am thrilled with the quality! These are not the cheapest lights up front, but I think the quality totally justifies the price. I have no concerns about shoddy workmanship (seriously, these things are slick!), they arrived extremely well packaged, and my plants are so much happier now! One 1x2 light can cover an equal volume of plants to six of those 12x12 purple lights, and with much better quality (those little lights are so dim they need to be positioned an inch or two above the plants, I have these about 10 to 12 inches above the tops of my plants). I would definitely recommend these to any vegetable gardener - on a budget or otherwise!

Excellent value! Second purchase.
Last winter I bought the 8 bulb 18X48 inch Led light( Full Spectrum). It has lots of blue light which really helps with inter nodal spacing. My pepper plants were already fruiting before transplant and my basil went crazy. Because of the success I had with my previous light, I thought I would try the red white blue 8 bulb 12X24 inch size and I bought a pair July 2019. I will let you know how it works out in a few months. Here is my take from my previous purchase : 1. These lights are everything they claim to be; Nothing more or less. There light footprint is the size of It's body. 2. Cost per sq foot is relatively low. 3. Cost to operate is literally a few dollars a month. 4. Heat is low @ 104 degrees on top of the body. 5. I'm a repeat buyer. Update on the red white blue lights: In July 2019, I purchased Two 8 bulb 12x24 inch lights for my 3x3 grow tent. It truly is a sprout to flower light. Cost to power ratio is fair. At 14-18 inches from plant canopy, you will get great results. Update after one year of use: For those of you growing America's favorite plant, my plants are producing 1.4 - 1.5 grams per watt. Stretch is minimal. Most plants stretch 50% from flip to week 3 of flower.

Couldn't be happier
Here to buy another light, and decided to write a review. Had my light for several months sowing cannabis seedlings and clones, which has been very successful. Only issue is the shade design does trap some heat under it, so I use s small fan to keep the babies happy. I like the fact you can turn half the lights off, as it has two switches. Great value, no issues.

Mine stopped working
I ordered four of these units. Definitely a good source of light but two of the units stopped working completely, and only one set of light strips still works on the other two units. Will maybe last you a year or two so don’t look at these as a long term investment
