Have you put ice in the cooler? And does not having a removable cooler compartment make cleaning inconvenient?

I don’t think it’s completely water proof, so I wouldn’t put ice in the cooler side. I have used those plastic ice packs. There’s no insert you can remove to clean, but it isn’t difficult to wipe down.

What are the bottom plates made of?

I'm not certain what the material is, but the bottom 'plates' are thicker, stronger, and less flexible than the vertical dividers. All are removable.

Will this fit my 2019 Subaru ascent?

Absolutely.we have a 2022 Subaru Ascent and it fits perfectly. We keep ours right behind the trunk net and we use it all the time

Is it waterproof? Would stuff inside get wet if there is water on the truck bed

It's made of pretty thick material. I think it would be fine if there were a little water. I love it. The cooler section kept my ice cream From the grocery store unmelted for over an hour. No ice or ice pack in with it. The material is like a tent so, although I can't say for sure it's waterproof, I would say it's definitely water resistant.
