A Guide to the Business Analysis Body of Knowledge (BABOK Guide)

Good information.

This isn't the most riveting thing to read, obviously, since it's basically a text book. However, it is essential reading if you're a BA. If you're just starting out in the field or intending on getting your CBAP or other IIBA certification, then you should read it start to finish to give yourself a foundation of knowledge / study for the exam. Otherwise, I still find it handy to have on hand as a reference guide. Need to refresh your knowledge of a certain technique that maybe you don't use often? Then read the section on just that technique. Need some guidance on setting up your requirements plan? Refer to just that section of the BABOK. Definitely recommended for all BAs.

This book has all the tools needed for prep for IIBA. It is also great for current BAs as a reference.

This book will be valuable for my job, and I look forward to diving in to it! I do wish it came in a hardcover for more durability though, because it's a big book and a hardcover will last longer. The only reason I gave 4 stars and not 5 is because it was damaged, which is most likely the shipping carriers fault not the vendor. The back cover and about 6 pages were scrunched, and the spine has a tear. Not a huge deal and I can live with it, but a hardcover would have withstood shipping better.

Full disclosure... I haven't read it yet! But I've glanced through it. I'm pleased with the purchase. Looks structured similar to the PMBOK Guide.

The information is good, but the formatting translation to ebook is seriously lacking. Either someone didn't proofread this after the translation or Amazon isn't providing consistent translation across reader platforms. It's not as bad as it could be, but it definitely interferes with the readability and comprehension.

A good improvement over earlier versions of the BABOK. Moves more toward business instead of IT centric. Also introduces multiple perspectives that business analysis can be practiced in. An excellent guide for business analysis professionals.
