I usually don’t write reviews, but this product is incredible. It worked almost immediately and has kept a dozen crows from roosting in the trees around my home for over a month now. Highly recommended!

This really works!!! We got into a war with several crows that showed up one day on our lawn. The next day, they were perched at the top of a tree in our yard, enjoying the beautiful view of the valley--and 'trashing up' our view (we had to look at the crows). I mistakenly tried to shoo them away, first by making noise and waving my arms, then by banging two pots together, then with a sling shot, etc. Not only did the crows resist, they counterattacked. I've since read up on crows--very intelligent, communicative, vindictive, and highly social. If you've got a small group today and they like your territory, you'll soon have MORE tomorrow. We tried everything: tying pie plates to the arbor so that the shiny metal would clang in the breeze (the crows soon adapted)--and we were trying to figure out whether we should "take them out" with our .410, when we came across this dead crow decoy. We read the reviews and decided to give it a try. Holy cow!!! It worked. Before the decoy arrived in the mail, the crows were pooping on our car (not on my truck)--they associated me with the car. We would find 10 or more big splats on the windshield and top of the car (not on the rear window?!?!). They figured out where the front entrance to the house was and began to poop on the 20'x20 entrance patio--sometimes up to 40 poops per day!!!!!! We would wash it off, and it would be the same the next day. We were reluctant to believe that crows were that intelligent / vindictive, but our jaw dropped when we saw this. When the dead crow decoy arrived, I must admit it looked REAL. The instructions were simplistic: Hang the decoy right-side up to scare away certain birds; hang the decoy upside down to get rid of crows. We decided to put the decoy right where they would surely see it: on the roof of the car. Just like in the old cartoons where Smedley Whiplash would tire the heroine to the railroad tracks, we put the decoy belly-up on the roof of the car with a string around its neck. That morning, before the decoy was in place, we had to clean the car again (you have to clean crow poop because it is highly acidic and ruins the paint). At noontime, we placed the decoy and waited. There was a lot of racket that afternoon, with lots of cawing and 'scolding' (we even studied crow caws so that we could mimic the crows and scold 'back' at them)--but no poop. Apparently, crows fear death, and dead colleagues are a bad since (= really dangerous humans)...and they hold funerals!!! (look it up on the internet--lots of research on this). The following morning, there were two poop splats on the entrance patio (down from 30-40/day) and NO poop on the car...and NO CROWS...and they have not been back since!!! I rarely write product reviews--at best I will give a product a certain number of stars--but this crow decoy is worth it!!! It was remarkably effective. (caveat: you have to be 'clever'--where are the crows going to see it? How can you keep them from figuring out it is decoy? etc. If you deploy it incorrectly or do not keep moving the crow or if they cannot see it, it might not work). Best money I've spent in a long time. If you've got a crow problem, this is solution.

Update 3 Years Later: I wanted to update my review now that I've been using the same crow decoy for a few years. The poor guy is starting to look a little 'worn out' with some white showing between his feathers so I'm considering replacing him with a new one. I leave him out nearly every day of the Spring-Summer months when the crows are at their worst, rotating his location in the yards around my home. It still works to keep the many crows out of my yard and birdbaths. I do keep him in the garden shed when it's rainy, which I think helped to preserve him all these years. Well worth the cost to have something so effective at keeping those pesky crows at bay. I've been dealing with neighborhood crows leaving garbage (peanut shells, bread, etc.) in my fountains and bird baths for quite some time. After having to clean almost daily I'd gotten to the point of letting some of them go dry because I don't have the time to keep up with them all. I hated having the smaller birds suffer because of these pesky crows so I researched options, finding this one with some great reviews. I was in doubt but after the first day, I saw amazing results. I placed this decoy on the pool deck between two of my fountains that the crows liked the most and they will not come into the yard at all. I leave it out for 1-2 days and then move it to the yard on the other side of the house where there is another fountain. Same result. The crows are still around but keeping their distance. After 1-2 days I either move it to the opposite yard or put it away for several days. Regardless of whether or not they see me put it out they keep their distance. It's been over a month now and still have excellent results. Sometimes I hang it by it's feet and other times lay it on the ground...either way seems to work. Other birds ignore it and still come in the yard and drink/bath from the fountains. I would recommend this to anyone dealing with crows on their property.

The first time I used it about 15 crows were flying around my yard and squawking at it. That lasted about 30 minutes. Kinda eerie. Even my dog was unsettled. Then the crows left and I haven't seen them back for a couple of weeks. The trick is to not use it a lot as well as move it around in your yard. Don't leave it in one place for more than a day.

This works amazingly well to scare away crows! They had taken over our birdfeeders. They were eating the seeds and slinging the seeds to the ground to feed the rest of the group!! I googled how to get rid of crows and this "dead" crow came up so we decided to try it. It looks so real, the beak, feathers, claws and size. I was really surprised at how good it looks. That night we hung it off one of the arms of the bird feeder holder. We didn't want the crows to see us. The next morning the crows came and they went crazy! They cawed and cawed for hours. Sometimes one would swoop down. We did not hang out the feeders that first day of the dead crow. The second day we hung out the feeders and the regular birds came. They were a little hesitant at first but they gradually ignored the dead crow. On day 3 we placed the crow on the ground under the feeders (we moved it at night). Still no crows at the feeders!! For a few days some crows would come to the trees and caw for a couple of minutes and leave. They never came down to the feeders or inspected the dead crow. Two times later in the month a single crow landed on a feeder. I shouted at it one time and it left. We see crows in the front of the house but not in the back where we keep the feeders. Why did you pick this product vs others?: I liked the description best and the reviews. Sturdiness: Its been outside and on the ground for about 3 weeks. The squirels push it out of their way and its still only lost 2 feathers and looks good. Realistic: VERY realistic

I highly recommend this crow decoy to scare crows away permanently. One crow kept killing multiple birds in my yard, including my favorite beloved blue jay. I did not realize crows kill young and adult birds until I witnessed it myself 3 times and watch in agony as birds of different species tried to chase away the attacking crow and stop it from eating the prey. It was tormenting to watch. When I discovered the crow killed my favorite blue jay, I thought to look up how to stop this. That's how I discovered this product. Pre-dawn, I laid down the crow decoy on the grass on its side. Very early morning the killer crow arrived and started squaking drawing the attention of other crows. I waited a few minutes and then went to look out the window to watch. They flew away when they saw me. That night, I brought the decoy crow back into the house because we were scheduled for heavy rainfall the next day. The day after was scheduled to be sunny and I put the decoy out again. This time neither the killer crow nor any other crows came back. It has been a month or a month and 1/2 now and neither the killer crow nor any other crows have returned. Now all the little birds and the descendents of my favorite blue jay freely fly, sing, rest in the trees and feed the food and water I place on the lawn. I strongly encourage you to try this based upon the excellent results I received. What a brilliant solution.

Bought one year ago even though it was higher priced because they were the original and I thought it would be the best. It was excellent! Worked beautifully, scared crows away. Ordered another one and the quality went down terribly! Structural ribbing showing on both sides and in head. Less feathers. Much cheaper quality! Really disappointing and I was willing to pay more to get the original quality. Will never buy again!

This fake dead crow worked too good. Hung it on a limb of the pine tree for two days. The crows went nuts. Saw three “crow funerals”. Not only are the crows gone, but every other bird is gone. It’s been a week and still no birds.

Had 30 - 40 crows circling in alarm and they were not happy! Only use it now and again for a few hours at a time so that crows dont get used to it.

This is really realistic. The crows have a daily meeting and always make the same sound. Then I don't see them for the rest of the day. Although someone in the neighbourhood had asked me to remove it, stating it's disgusting (see it looks real), I'm incredibly happy with Greg (I named him that) although Russell would have been good too.

Arrived as advertised but worked for just 1 day!
