9.5 mm Wire Binding Spines

Perfectly good at what I got them to do, bind paper. What more can I say, they have a simple job, and this product does it well. Good quality and doesn’t bend back when closed around paper.

As supplied to me, this is a pack of relatively thin wire black binding wires. They are specified for 20 sheet capacity, though you can usually get a few more on. Wire binding gives an extremely professional impression, as opposed to comb binding, which gives exactly the opposite impression. However, wire binding machines are a bit more expensive, and also take a bit of practice. The only downside with these is they are US Letter, not A4. This is fine if you're binding A5 and cutting off the end, or binding A4 lengthways (which is something you can't do with folding and stapling A3, so is very much a wire-bind unique selling point), but you can't bind regular A4 with them, without leaving unprofessional looking extra holes at the top and bottom. Probably just a mailing error, but it's important.

Just what is says in the listing. They do the job and I'm very happy. I did buy a cheaper brand in a smaller size and have noted that the cheaper wire bends more easily and the books look messy much sooner after being carted about in my bag a bit. The Rayson wire is stiffer and better quality which is more durable and stays smarter.

The spines themselves are good quality but the way they are packaged is just a total disaster. They all tangle together no matter how careful you are about taking them out or looking for the size you need. If they fixed the packaging issue then I’d rate it 5 starts as the spines themselves were great

Excellent wires, make sure the setting for the size is correct and it gives a lovely circular binding resulting in perfectly wiro bound book.

These spines result in a very neat and professional finish.

Nous l’avons utilisé pour ajouter des pages à un carnet de voyage pour aquarelles (papier épais). Après avoir rempli cette reliure, nous l’avons coupé e facilement à la bonne taille puis nous avons refermé les anneaux en les repliant doucement jusqu’à ce que les anneaux se rejoignent en vérifiant que l’ouverture et la fermeture du carnet reste souple et facile sans que les pages ne se désassemble. Avec ces précautions, nous avons obtenu parfaitement ce que nous désirions.

Jag förväntade mig inte att få en kartong där alla ”wire-trådar” var tilltrasslade, utan att det skulle gå att använda dem direkt utan krångel. Jag blev både ledsen och besviken över det här och har nu returnerat kartongen. De får trassla upp eländet själva. På köpet så kommer jag inte att köpa såna här saker igen från Rayson. Så handlar du från dem så var beredd på sån här röra…
