- Owner Karen Morris' BedFoRd wOOL journey started with a mishap that led to a starting a business she truly loves. After she thought she had ruined a piece of wool while making a pocketbook, she decided to use the material to make other things. She soon got hooked on "upcycling" - taking an existing item and transforming it into something more beautiful. Morris' process starts with a high-quality wool sweater. She cleans it, felts it, and begins to hand-cut and sew. Before long, that previously-unwanted sweater becomes mittens, scarves, warm winter hats, holiday wreaths, Christmas stockings, iPad or Kindle cases, eyeglass holders, and pretty much anything else you can imagine. It is a 100% environmentally-friendly process, because every piece of wool she cuts goes into one of her creations.
This adorable, re-purposed "HeRRiNgBoNe hOOt" Owl is made of recycled black and white wool and stuffed with fiberfill. It has a bright orange beak, soft black woolen feet and blue 3-dimensional eyes.
