Yasutomo Rice Paper Sketch Pad 12 1/8” x 18 1/8” 50 Sheets

This lovely paper deserves 5 stars as it is very good, but the packing was poorly done. It was placed in a box that was too small with other items making it bend in awkward ways.

This paper s great value for money - bought for proofing, but I find it also excellent for monoprints. Both sides can be used, for different effects. The surface is extremely sensitive, and picks up detail and texture beautifully.

I’m a experienced Japanese calligrapher and a Sumi-E painter. It’s a nice, smooth, and thicker mulberry paper and I like the touch of it. Its downside is that it bleeds a lot and drys the brush quick. It’s definitely difficult to work with it, but I found out that it works on certain Sumie paintings. Choosing a right paper is one of the key factors to be successful depending on your project, isn’t it.

Product is a repeat purchase. However, this vendor did a poor job of packaging. The pad of paper was folded over from the bag it was stuffed inside of. Paper has serious bends along much of the outer edge. Durability: Product itself is always great. Condition this time was poor due to packing issues.

This paper is ideal for printmaking on the Gelli Press. It takes detail very well, and is easy to use in book making, which is my main use of the gelli prints.

I am new to Sumi, so I read all the comments by commenters for guidance. The majority said this paper is the best. The size was convincting, too. I was chuffed to see the nice weight to the paper. My neighbor saw it sitting on my table, and promptly took a piece! It's real appealing to touch. I am finding Yasutomo products to be absolutely top rate and am not buying from other vendors anymore. btw, the delivery was astonishingly fast and it was crated with total care.

Thicker than other brands, sturdy weight paper. Great for gelli printing!

Love rice paper quality. I use it for my gel plate monogram printing.
