Not that much to say
Most of us have seen this design for years, they sit under the last few books in a row and hold them upright. Simple.Needing exactly that I looked for a multi pack at a good price as I needed at least 3 sets for new shelves I'm sticking my books on. These do the job nicely. they are simple, well made and a good price,If i needed more i would be back for them again

Good, but won't work on all surfaces
You get quite a few of these with the purchase, which is pretty nice. They're sturdy, but they won't stay in place on smoother surfaces. I've got an unvarnished wood (MDF) shelf and they tend to slip from place when holding my university files up. It's a shame they don't have rubber feet or something, but then again they'd likely cost more if they did. These are better on rougher surfaces.

Excellent value
I have had this product before. It is sturdy & neat. It takes books of all sizes & keeps them all upright & safe. I am once more very pleased with this product & would recommend it without reservations.

Great Bookends!
I've only propped a few flayling books/folders etc - have yet to try these out on my big beasts of heavy folders, but i'm sure they'll be fine.I am not sure what the difference is between these and the other ones - these are black, blank without any logo's on, but these still have a drilled hole in case you need to secure them on the shelf. But i'd say the base is quite lengthy and sufficient not to need to do this.I've also bought a few of the £1 rubber mats from Tesco's £1 item area to try and stop folders/books and notebooks sliding on the shelves and to support these book ends as i'm asking a lot of them!So in essence they seem to be substantial and have worked great where i've put them and i'd buy more if needed.

Worried about strength- double up!
I have many large heavy art books (some 29x30x5cm) so I was worried these might not be up to the task. But then it just requires common sense and realistic expectations. Expecting one bookend to support a row of books that heavy is expecting too much so when the bottom support of the first bookend is covered I put in another bookend (essentially a divider) and it worked perfectly. I didn't even need an additional bookend at the end, it was so sturdy and upright. So buying 4 pairs and simply doubling up when needed will do the job. They are none slip and look great.

Good Quality but a design drawback
Comparing these with other simple bookends there is one drawback. The vertical element rises from a position 35mm from the heal and 120mm from the toe. This leads to less stability in that books on the toe side can lean and push (slide) the bookend along the shelf than an equivalent "L" shaped bookend with a base longer than 120mm. The 35mm heal also makes placement of the bookend on the shelf less flexible without adding and advantage that I could find. This might just be a preference issue peculiar to me but in retrospect I would have preferred "L" shaped bookend.IF the design would suit you, then buy them. The quality is very good for the price compared with others (hence four stars).

Robust, lightweight, good value
I'm really happy with these bookends. My bookshelves finally look neat and tidy. (Only took a few years to get round to ordering them...). I only have 15-20 books per pair, though I'm sure they could handle more. They feel satisfyingly robust, but are still lightweight. A good buy.
