Too easy
Ordered this lever to replace a broken hood release on a 2005 Buick Rainier. The Rainier is basically Buick's version of the Trailblazer, so most (not 100%) parts are identical. The parts that are not the same are pretty much cosmetic. This lever was a perfect replacement. The hardest part of the job was removing the door sill, and without my metal trim remover tool, it would have been much harder. No clips were broken, which is pretty amazing on a 19 year old car.There is only one nut to take off and mine was 10mm. Also, I saw where some people claim they needed a deep well socket- I did NOT. A standard socket with a short extension worked great.Can't comment on durability, but it appears it will last. Keep in mind to make sure your cable slides easily, mine did. I have no idea why the old one broke other than, well, its plastic.The lever is a little looser than the old one, but for the money, I am extremely pleased. I anticipate this one lasting as long as the old girl has left.

I am giving this 4 out of 5 only because the internal dimensions are not the same. As others have pointed out the nut needs to be modified IE grinded/cut down on one side to fit inside the housing. The OEM one has a larger space internally than this one. Otherwise the fit/finish was good. Have used it multiple times without issue.

Yes it did fit my 2006 2500hd silverado and it does function. However do not expect oem quality from this. The pivot point for the handle is a very sloppy fit with a lot of play in it and the return spring is very weak and does not even touch when in the stowed position, thankfully gravity helps the handle a lot stowing. The pocket where the attachment nut is recessed into barely accommodates the diameter of the nut, and the nut pushes the sides out slightly as it is tightened down.
