iCrimp SN-48B Pin Crimping Tools 3.96/4.8/5.08/6.3 mm 26-16AWG Crimper 0.14-1.5mm² for Dupont & JST-SM Molex Connectors and Terminals

I frequently make custom wiring harnesses for dirtbikes and accessories. I have no idea how I lived so long without these. Way less fiddling, no question you got the crimp right. The ratchet mechanism makes the crimp easy and also allows you to grap the terminal and hold it in the tool while steadying the wire with your other hand--meaning way less missed crimps. I've used it for hundreds now. The only challenge is knowing exactly what size of terminals you're using. I have another iCrimp that has changeable jaws for different size terminals, but I do so many in this size, a dedicated tool was worth it.

Works great not major issues. Crimps well and without issue every time once you figure out which way to put your ends in. It took a 1\2 second to figure out but it wasn't bad. Also it helps to bend the end tabs up just a bit on the end of the connector so they fit in the tool a bit better, and so they don't slip out when crimping. Over all great product for the price . Pro: Works well inexpensive Fairly easy to use after you get use to your connections and the way it crimps Con: No instructions really, you just have to kinda figure it out but its not that hard, just make sure your putting the connector in the right way and your good.

Best choice - It works with molex standards!

These work really well. Took some practice to get it perfect, though. The connectors I'm using have 2 sets of tabs. I found I had to crimp the connectors twice: once to crimp the tabs to attach the wire, then again on the other set to really set it. It was tough holding the connector while trying to also crimp it, especially under the dash of my car, but I was able to do it with a little practice. There are no instructions. Please note that you need to squeeze the handles all the way to seat the tabs into the wire so that they release back open. These feel like quality tools, not cheap and flimsy at all.

I recently found myself needing to crimp a 16AWG Molex Mini-fit JR female plug for my generator. Imagine my surprise when I discovered the official Molex mini-fit JR crimp tool came with a hefty $750 price tag! This might be reasonable for those in a production environment, but it was hard to justify for a single crimp. Enter the iCrimp SN-48B crimp tool. Based on reviews and answers suggesting it was compatible with Molex Mini-fit Jr, I gave it a try. Admittedly, there was a bit of a learning curve - after practicing about 15 times, I managed to get the result I wanted. The resulting crimp might not have been 100% perfect, but it certainly did the job, and my generator's connection was securely repaired.

Well made tool, crimps well. No muss, no fuss.

The reason you need this tool versus the less expensive version is the crimping area is wider meaning you don’t have to crimp twice. This new version is better than the previous because it has two different heights for crimping. This means the two sections of the pin get compressed at different heights With only one stroke

Seems well-manufactured, works fine, but definitely not for advertised gauges. The two smaller teeth are similar sizes, the larger is quite different (see photo). It's possible mine is mis-manufactured, which would not be any better I suppose. The smallest tooth is ~1.96/2.75mm, by my measurement. Assuming the tool isn't mismanufactured, there's no way that's suited to most 26AWG terminals. I think this product is incorrectly specified. Minus 1 star. By comparison, a competing product shows its 1.90/2.56mm die is for 20-22AWG. That's a slightly smaller die, for much heavier gauge? I also just received one rated for AWG18-28, same brand, and the second-largest die is about the same size as the smallest die on this tool. It's spec'ed for relatively fine work/gauges, but the tool is quite heavy, the combination of which makes it unwieldy to orient and crimp fine wires. I wonder if a non-ratcheting crimping tool would be easier to use. Minus 1 star. I wish it had gauges stamped/printed on the die instead of the handle, so I didn't have to keep each IWISS die with the specific tool. The tools take up too much space in my limited work area. I may etch the gauges on myself.

Easy use good product

works well on the 22 gauge and lighter connector, for those connectors that are heavier i would suggest the longer handled tool
