I purchased four different brands from Amazon and this is the only one that fit my tripod. First brand was 1mm to big in all three dimensions, I returned it - I could probably have figured that out by comparing dimensions. The other two fit but they were an uncomfortably tight squeeze to get them inserted. This one is the only one that fit like the original one.

This is a 44mm x 44mm quick release plate. People who are lazy and do not measure for the correct size should not complain if it does not fit. It is "universal" in that it fits all tripods that require a 44 X 44 size plate. Great product and you cannot beat the price. Also, was delivered quickly and on time.

I bought the tripod head from this seller a while back, and I wound up losing the shoe mount for the camera whilst moving my equipment from one home to the other. I figured that I would come back to the seller and see if they sell just the shoe mount for it. I scrolled down to the frequently asked questions for the tripod head that I bought from them, and alas; someone had the same issue that I had: They lost the shoe mount and were looking for a replacement. And the seller had the answer! He/she included the link for the shoe mount! Great! So I ordered it. Couple of days later, I received it; I was so psyched to finally have one again so I could use my slider with it. I open the package annnnnnd... It is TINY. Almost 1/4 of the size of the one that I lost. *Insert big sigh here* I shouldn't have confided in the seller knowing the dimensions; I should have tried to have looked closer at the dimensions; if they had any details of it. The actual product looks to be well built, and looks like it will be useful to have as a spare for another tripod of a smaller size or something, so I'm not returning it. I'm just disappointed in the seller of the tripod head that I bought a year ago. So folks, lesson here is; read the description yourself!

The good news - it's $5. The bad news - it's MY $5 and this thing is a cheaply made piece of crap that doesn't fit standard tripods as advertised as universal. The plastic is thin and looks like it will easily crack but that's not the bad part. It is being falsely advertised as a universal plate and it's simply not. I have about 7 of these plates from different manufacturers and nearly all fit every other tripod - but not this one. It's too big on all 4 sides to fit into the boot.My fix? Im going to shave the cheap 'lil bast@&d down with a belt sander and take off about 1/16" - 1/8" from each edge. I think that should allow it to fit into my very regular and very standard tripod. Its a poor design. Instead of leaving the inserts angled and sharp at the edges that get inserted, they left a little vertical wall about 1/8" tall (see photos) - that wall needs to go. I'll shave it off then Im certain it will fit "standard" tripods.

I was happy to discover that this is the perfect fit for my Amazon Basics tripod. I lost my other mount so I'm very pleased!

Did not fit my tripod, that is my fault for not looking at the dimensions more closely. I assumed universal meant most standard tripods. I am not pleased there are no returns and again I should have read the details more closely.

Product was exactly what I was looking for to give my tripod that I found in a thrift store. It simply attached to the bottom of my camcorder and that, in turn, attached to the tripod in only a couple of seconds. Quick and convenient. I may get more to facilitate a quick change of devices. Permits changing cameras quicker than switching out batteries.
