Sturdy and well made
I love my stainless steel thermos. It's not large, but I don't think I would like it bigger. It is definitely a beverage thermos, as it has a pop up spout for pouring. You could put soups in it, because the top does screw open to fill, but It's a fairly small opening and cup top. Keeps cold beverages very cold and hot for a while too. Because it's smaller, it's lighter weight and fits in smaller carriers. Fits well in a backpack. One small drawback is the way the spout works. It pours in the middle of the pop up, so some liquids can catch there and drip on transporting. Just make sure to check for drips before putting in a bag. Or when you open the cap, you might catch some on your clothes.

A camper's best friend
I bought this thermos with a very specific purpose in mind and it performed even better than expected. When we tour by motorcycle, we're often many many miles away from a store. We have to carefully plan our packing and shopping each day so that we travel light but have everything we need the next morning (camping). Coffee is a big part of our morning and so is cream! This thermos is dedicated to keeping our cream cold for our coffee the next morning. We put cold cream in the afternoon and it's still fresh and cool for our coffee the next morning. It's a great size, too. It perfectly fits a pint of cream and hardly takes up any room in our packs. I haven't even used it for anything hot but I'm sure it works perfectly there, too. If you're a camper or a hiker, this is your best friend!

NOT a Thermos But Seems Fine
The description would suggest that this is a Thermos brand bottle; it isn't. The brand is "Uniware" which I'm not familiar with, however it is made in China according to the label on the bottom. On the other hand it seems fine for my purposes -- carrying hot coffee to work to drink in the afternoon. I filled it with hot coffee this morning at 6:30 and six hours later the coffee is still hot and fresh inside. The bottle is of two steel layers with either vacuum or air in between and seems sturdy and of high quality. The valve cap seems a little less high quality at first glance but so far no leaks. (I carried it sideways in my briefcase.) Any leaks would likely be caught by the cup that screws onto the top. So far so good, and the price is definitely competitive. If it lasts a while I might consider boosting my assessment to five stars. 9/21/13 update: The thermos is leaking! I think it would be OK if you are careful to carry it upright at all times. But when you carry it on its side, somehow coffee leaks out. Now I have coffee spilled in my briefcase and on the papers inside.

Does the job quite well
I was a little concerned since this thermos is more slender than the one it was replacing. Both this and the other one were 16 oz bottles, so I was concerned about the insulating power of the more slender thermos. However, I guess a small vacuum functions about as well as a big vacuum (seems to logical now that I think about it). I always preheat any thermos with boiling water and put the cap on and let it sit for 10-15 minutes before putting hot coffee in. This one actually keeps coffee hotter than the other one and takes up a bit less room in my pack and absolutely does not leak. It's a winner!

It's Cheap in price and quality
I first would like to say, that I do like the open and close feature. I was using this to add water to my Yerba Mate, which means that I open and close it frequently to pour out the hot water. The problem is that the plastic piece that works as a stopper easily comes loose from another piece part that keeps it in place. The stopper snaps into a circular piece (white piece in the picture) and is supposed to stay in place similar to the wrist bands that you can only remove by cutting them off. Unfortunately the stopper easily disconnects and you may not even notice it until you hear it dangling in the water (pictured). And there is no way you can safely get it out while there is hot liquid in there. I was able to re-assemble it, but within a few uses it came back on. The first one I got, I thought It could have been an manufacturer defect since it came off after a day. As for the replacement the same thing happened two days later. It did seem to hold the water temperature for a good amount of time, but because of it's poor design, it's unlikely that this will be useful in the long run.

Great for under 3 hours
This is a decent bottle for 8 bucks. I typically make a coffee to bring with me to my office in the morning but don't have a chance to drink it until 3-4 hours later. This bottle keeps my coffee slightly above warm after 3-4 hours. It is 100% stainless, has a nice wide opening that is easy to drink from, the cap is like a pourable snap-top that opens and closes easily and mine doesn't leak at all. It also has the cup top as well but it is plastic inside so I don't drink from it. Overall for the price this is a decent value if you don't need to keep your beverage hot for very long. However, if price isn't a concern and you want to keep your beverage piping hot for 6+ hours then I recommend the "Thermos 16-Ounce Vacuum Insulated Stainless Steel Briefcase Bottle" here on amazon for about 28 bucks. It keeps my coffee burning hot for a long time. I hope this helps :)

Perfect for one person and an attractive design.
I'm quite happy with this sleek little coffee bottle. I purchased it because I make coffee every morning in my French press and always have a cup or so left. A big carafe is too much for that small an amount, but it gets cold if it sits in the press for more than 10 or 15 minutes. This morning, I brewed a pot, and the remainder in the flask was still nicely hot a couple of hours later. I just poured the last of it out now, and even 12 hours later, it was still warm. I could have added hot milk and it would have been drinkable. I like the vacuum seal and slim profile of this coffee bottle. It would travel well to the beach or with me in the car. I would not be brave enough to put any coffee container, however, in my briefcase, as another buyer mentioned. I do think this would work in a backpack side pocket or similar space where it could be guaranteed to be kept upright. ETA: the volume of the coffee in the flask seems to affect how long it stays hot too (makes sense). I made coffee again this morning, and having more left than normal, almost filled the flask. The coffee was brewed around 10 am, and I just now at 6 pm poured it into a mug still very warm, almost hot. With steamed milk this time, it was plenty hot. I also think filling the flask with warm water before pouring coffee into it helps keep the liquid warm longer (probably changes the thermal conductivity of the flask temporarily so it loses less heat immediately).

this is only thing that hold your coffee + tea hot until the afternoon
I received as company x-mas gift but lost it. I wanted to buy it again because this is only thing that hold your coffee + tea hot until the afternoon. Starbucks mugs generally don't hold your liquid hot - maximum 1 hr. This however hold your liquid hot for 5-6 (maybe even more) hours at least. I don't like the plastic switch mechanism to pour your liquid, so I just twist open and drink it straight up.
