Sterno Professional Culinary Torch, One Size, Black

I have 3 different torches all from Amazon and this one is the best. I don’t like the “safety” switch because it will switch on or off by itself just from gravity. I have used it for a while now and gone through about 5 cans of fuel and it doesn’t blow as hot as it did when I first got it but it’s still good enough for melting cheese and caramelizing burgers.

Using it is a breeze, I searched up a tutorial on YouTube and got it the first try. The only bad thing I have to say is that after using it about 5-10 times turning that low-high piece it got loose. So raising the heat is like a hassle, i gotta turn it all the way. First use was great, over a certain amount of use it just loses that new feel.

Overall I'd say it works really well. Costco sells sterno butane cans in bulk so the fuel is readily available. Instructions are pretty clear, the only small issue I had was that one time the ignition wouldn't fire, but I just switched the lock button on and off a few times and it started up. I hadn't had that problem afterwards, so hopefully just a one off issue. Otherwise the flame is quite strong and I've used it to finish off some ribs, steak, and roast marshmallows. It's great!

This is a good torch with a hot bushy flame for jewelry making. My first one stopped working after 3 months, so I purchased the 4-year protection plan for $4.00. Hopefully, if this one has a problem they will replace it for free. I definitely prefer this torch to the refillable butane torches. It is VERY easy to use.

Web site was not accurate. This was not the black torch head but was the one with orange buttons which is not the same.

I've only used them for creme brulee and it works great! Used it about 8 times so far and no issues. I used a Coleman butane can. You can find a butane can at any camp/outdoor store. The flame stays consistent after it warms up. You have to warm it up at least 2 minutes, otherwise the flame output changes a lot when you move it around.Wish it had marks on the knob so you can adjust the flame to about the same output every time. I ended up putting my own marks with a Sharpie.

Don't be fooled with cheaper look-a-likes. Bought several of those to save a $. Sterno brand was the only torch that created a positive seal with the butane bottle. Solid cast body. Don't waste your time trying the other ones.

Seems to be plugged or something. Flame is not nearly as strong as day one. Tried multiple cans of butane. I have used it 4 times or so. Not even 10 mins of use
