Gourds in Your Garden: A Guidebook for the Home Gardener

This book is full of diagrams and actual photos! The information here is really concise and simple to understand. Very thorough book. I cannot wait to start growing my gourds next year.

Instead of borrowing this book, I just had to own it. The book has all of the need-to-know information for both the casual and serious gourd gardener. You will be reminded of how to prep the soil (I always want to be sure I'm getting things started under the best conditions), how to grow the seeds indoors (for transplantation) or directly in the garden, care during the growing season, including how to prune and, of course, when harvest. There is even more you can learn from this book. It is simply the best book on the subject.

I enjoyed this book. It was most informative. I have had gourd growing challenges and this book gave me some answers that I needed. The pictures were great! It was wonderful to see what one can help mother nature create!

I love this book! I have been a gourd grower and have done some crafting of gourds for about 5 or so years -- this is my favorite book to refer back to, year after year. Easy to read, covers just about everything you would need to know about growing gourds but not too detailed where you get lost in it...........I definitely recommend this book to any gourd lover!

This is a great book for those of us who want to grow our own gourds. The author takes you through the entire process from preping the soil to drying post harvest. There are large margins for note writing (I have used some of them). She does write about a lot of chemicals etc rather than concentrating on organic gardening. Although she does have a short section on organic techniques/companion planting. I recommend this book for those who want to grow their own gourds.

Wasn't as detailed as I would've liked. It's a nice start to learing more about gourds. Some interesting stuff. Would just check it out at the library.

Great book, great details, great steps and history too. I learned alot from reading this book. And absolutely love it! Easy to read and learn the details and 'how to's' to fertilizing and creating trellis vines and helpful examples too.

the growing of gourds and prep show me that my garden space can be used for better products easier to buy mine as a good gourd farm is near by and the ones I want are not productive in my climate.

i tried to grow gourds without book but failures. so i order this book and find out what's went wrong. it's tell you how do it problery and many more. next year i'll try again. it's great book, lots of gourds out there than i tho.
