PC Gamer By Heart, Minecraft For Switch Amazed Me.
I'm a PC gamer by heart. Mainly because I prefer mouse and keyboard. I always felt controls in games make all the difference when it comes to enjoying your experience. You can have one of your favorite games on a different platform if you don't like the controls your experience is ruined for certain. That being said, I was very happy to find the controls for minecraft were not only do-able, but for a kick back and relaxed experience I much preferred controller for the game. As much as I love to sit on my computer and play with precision aiming, there's nothing more relaxing than kicking back on the couch and relaxing with some Minecraft. The controllers menu shortcut buttons made accessing and navigating through the inventory very fast and enjoyable. My own complaint (if you even want to call it a complaint) was I felt a bit slower building compared to playing on my PC with mouse and keyboard. I generally build fast but I found myself miss clicking and building blocks in spots I didn't intend to. That being said, maybe I should slow down and take my time or I just suck at aiming with the controller. If you never played Minecraft before or you have just want to play on the Switch I say its well worth the price. My sister and nephew and I enjoy getting together next t each other playing on our realm server. You can still join any servers in the search bar and there is cross play so you can play with your friends on PC or on your Switch device. I hope this review was helpful. I feel bad the majority of the review was based off controls but I think the majority of you will agree no matter what the topic is controls one if not the most important aspect in a game. If you hate your control scheme your not going to enjoy your game.

Now compatible
I really enjoy this game I’ve played in on the PC, and PS3 and PS4 and since it was integrated with XBox to the newer version this is supposed to make it easier to use one login account with Microsoft to access stuff like skin packs texture packs or mash up. The annoying part is that you’re not able to import saved worlds to continue playing this is a really big hassle and I won’t be playing this game until it gets fixed. Don’t expect a subscription to Minecraft Realms to work either because cross platform play doesn’t include the ability to use Realms if the main console is PlayStation. It’s now January 2021 and Realms for Minecraft PS4 has been released so players are able to transfer custom maps to the Nintendo Switch. This is a big change since Sony doesn’t have a portable console that will have updates it’s playable game but people can’t receive recent improvements which is a downer. Thanks to Mojang for the extra effort it really shows that it’s not a corporate demand for buying new machines for the sake of always needing the better appearance. For kids it’s exciting to get presents like gaming consoles so when it happens for them they should be able to enjoy it, as adults we can afford the money but most scenarios time is more valuable

Easy to redeem
I didn’t want to link my card info to my son’s account. This was one of the easier to redeem online purchases I’ve done

Works as well on Switch as other systems, I've been told.
Full disclosure: I have no idea what this game is or what it's about. It was a gift for my boys who have been pestering me non-stop for months to buy it for them. Let it be clear that I bought this because I wanted to and not because they pestered me into submission. That's the story and I'm sticking to it. To me it looks like a bunch of blocks assaulting other blocks with little green blocks attacking your blocks and big blocks of TNT exist. That's about it. Doesn't seem like much to me. What it does seem like is my boys love this game and the pestering has diminished to a tolerable white noise.

5 Stars to Minecraft, 5 Stars to the Nintendo Switch, 3 stars for Minecraft on Nintendo Switch
Don't get me wrong, I LOVE Minecraft and the Nintendo Switch. Unfortunately, combining these 2 great things didn't add up the way I intend. The problem is that Nintendo won't allow even LAN cross-compatibility without buying their Nintendo Online services. Otherwise, Nintendo Switch uses can only do local Minecraft multiplayer games whether it's Switch-to-Switch or adding more joycons to a Switch. The game itself is good like the version I got for Windows 10 and Android, but it's just stupid that Nintendo doesn't even allow basic local multiplayer capabilities outside of the Switch console itself without having an online services subscription. Buyers, beware. You will need to spend more money to get proper multiplayer support, whether it's getting another controller/pair of joycons, getting another Switch and copy of the game, or getting the Online Services subscription. Otherwise, just get the Windows 10, Mac, Android, and iOS versions of the game for a hassle-free multiplayer out of the box. 4 stars only because of Nintendo and it's not really Mojang's fault.

Downloaded simple and easy! Great game!
For those of you who are worried about downloading off of Amazon, you have nothing to fear. I was afraid something would go wrong. The redemption code didn't "fit" into my switch on the eshop, but luckily Amazon has other ways to do things. I just clicked on a link that said "redeem on Nintendo.com" and it automatically started downloading on my Nintendo Switch! Took less than 15 minutes to download, too. I have minecraft on everything and I was happy to get it on my Nintendo Switch because I could play with others in the car without internet on separate systems. The game itself is not like pocket edition for those of you who thought it was. It is the full console version with some extra stuff. I would recommend to anyone who has a Switch!
