I have 4C curls, and unfortunately post havingcovid my hair has been extremely dry. I was able to use this product prior to having covid and now that my hair is finally able to retain moisture I'm able to use this product again. I love that it has hold and that it helps my curls to really have definition. I'm not a big fan of the scent, and because it is so thick, you can stretch it and make it go quite a bit. It is a bit pricey, but when I think about the value of my hair being healthy and having a product that actually works, I'll pay a few extra dollars. I only use this product from doing something like an event or I want my hair to look super cute, I don't use it every single day just because I'll probably use this bottle in a week, literally if I was to apply it daily. Okay maybe a week and a half. But I've had this bottle for a few months and again I use it only for special occasions when I want my hair to really pop. In regard to it serving its purpose, I give it a five. In regard toapplication, because it is so thick, you have to really squeeze if you use the nozzle, if you take the lid off it can probably come out a little bit quicker. As far as the cost, a I wish it wasn't as expensive, but again at the end of the day you get what you pay for... so in that respect I guess it is a pretty decent value.

EDITED REVIEW: The smell of this product is powerful, no doubt. If scents give you migraines, don't open this and inhale deeply. At first, I was put off with how strongly this smelled and it sat on my shelf for a month. Then, on a good day where my head felt fine, I decided to give it a try. This stuff is amazing at encouraging curls and it is very lightweight! It is now my go-to wintertime product and the smell fades when the product dries, so it's not a problem for me. For reference, I am type 2B-C, very low porosity, fine hair, with low density. I use about 1-2 tablespoons each time, scrunch a little bit, plop in a tshirt towel for an hour, then air dry the rest of the way and scrunch out the crunch. I think that it's possible that porosity and strand thickness have more to do with what stylers to use rather than texture, as there are many people with varied textures who love this product. It's definitely worth a try.

It wasn’t the best for me, but it definitely wasn’t terrible! Smells super amazing, and is super soothing on the scalp. However it really dosen’t tame my frizz like it claims, and i wouldn’t use it on super damp hair fresh out the shower, as it dosen’t so much when applied that way. This is good for days where i don’t have much time to do my hair, i just splash some water and apply some of this and i’m good to go!

A little goes a long way—seriously. I used way too much the first application and my hair got super oily, but after using just a pea-sized amount it worked wonders. It also smells AMAZING

My wife’s favorite gel cast for setting curls. When she “scrunches the crunch out” there is no flakes and curls are perfect! Works best when your hair is soaking wet, after curl cream applied.
