Didn't work for me
I'm not sure if there is an expiration date on these but I've had them for a while, but they were unopened; vacuum sealed in their original package and when I opened them, they didn't work. Not sure if it was manufacturers defect or expiration date issue. It would be nice if they had indicators on them to let you know if they are still good or not.

Harvest Right trusts them and so do I
I freeze dry food for both human and my pet's consumption, so it's very important to me that I can rely on the mylar bags I package it in as well as the oxygen absorbers I use. I've purchased these FreshUS oxygen absorbers through Amazon three times now and once directly from Harvest Right's site. The fact that Harvest Right has enough faith in them to stake their reputation on them gives me a high degree of confidence in the quality of this brand, and the fact that they're made in the USA by a company that's specialized in food packaging since 1993 is definitely a huge plus. Getting the absorbers in packets of ten rather than one large bag makes it convenient for me to get the amount I need out and then reseal the package without exposing a large number of them to air. This keeps the bulk of the order safe from exposure to air until needed. To keep the oxygen absorbers from going bad, package up everything you want to store first, then cut open the oxygen absorber packet and pop the absorbers into the top of your containers. If you have unused absorbers left, just flatten the packet to push air out, then reseal the packet with your heat sealer to keep them fresh. The color of the indicator within each packet should be pink if the absorbers are good and purple if they're bad. Another way to check them is by feel though - if they're good they'll feel soft, and you can hear the granules inside roll around like sand. If they've gone bad the absorber will feel harder and the granules inside will have started to clump together. Don't use those! Feeling a little warmth when handling a mylar bag you've sealed with one of these absorbers is another indicator that the absorber is good and is absorbing oxygen. Don't expect the oxygen absorber to shrink or compress a mylar bag down though. You might see a little compression, but don't think that's an indicator that the absorber is working or not working! These absorb oxygen, not air. The atmosphere is 21% oxygen with the rest being nitrogen and other gasses, so there will still be "air" in your bag unless you're using a mason jar with vacuum sealer. It's oxygen along with moisture and light that causes food spoilage though, so don't be worried about bag compression, these do what they're supposed to do.

Not in smaller packs
I am dehydrating a lot of food right now and decided to try these smaller 100cc packets. I purchased the 300 cc from this same company and they were divided into smaller packs inside the large pack. These came in a bag of 100, not subdivided. That means I have to spend time dividing them into small jars and vacuum seal them....Not to mention make space for the small jars. The product works well, but next time I will purchase a different product that is already subdivided.

Excellent long term storage solution
I use the FreshUS 300cc Oxygen Absorbers to add to canning jars with dried beans, rice, pasta, etc. for long term storage. Easy to use, add them to the canning jar and they pop the seal down in a short period of time. I have jars that I did four years ago and they still look like the day I did them, with no spoilage. Update: 4/6/25 I purchased from the same seller that I did before and this time the packaging that contains the set of 10 seemed yellow and old. Also the little pink disc that is included in each package so you can tell if they are good seemed discolored and not the way it should look. I returned them. The seller wasn't FreshUs, so the next time I will make sure I purchase from them.

Still unsure!
I purchased these to use in vacuum sealed bags for Christmas cookies I was gifting. My understanding was they would absorb the air left after vacuum sealing and keep the cookies fresh. They did visibly absorb air and further change the shape of the bags without crushing the cookies. But, the cookies went from soft to crunchy and stale. The bags were still vacuum sealed and not leaking air. I am not sure if my expectations were unrealistic. The only instructions I had were on the internet so I may have used them wrong. I do not know. But they did not resolve my "freshness" in gifting issue and that is why I will not buy them again. They may do exactly as they should, they did remove the air. Perhaps I over expected.
