Are You My Mother?: 18 (Beginner Books(R)) Hardcover – Picture Book, 12 Jun. 1960

I buy this book for all friends with young children. I'd say it's the best children's book ever written. My two are now 21 and 18, but to this day, the second I try to read the final page, I tear up.

I first bought this book 30+ years ago for my son and whilst looking for books for one of my grandchildren I was amazed to see it is still available. Whilst mum is away the baby bird leaves to nest to look for her and comes across many things on his journey, each time asking "Are you my mother" until finally he does find his mum. It is an engaging story which young children (and mums) love

I remember this from when I was little, I read it to my own children and just got the little board book for my first grandchild...love it.

Delightful story which often brings a tear to my eyes when reading to my grandchildren. Also read to my children and school pupils .

This simple story has ultimate appeal for small children who can understand the birds wish to find its mother. The silly aspect of the animal is terrific. I still love the 'snort' who is really from such an age ago !

First read this book many years ago as a nursery nurse then to my granddaughters 20+ years ago they loved it, and have now read it to my great granddaughters who also love it . It is a lovely story!

My children loved it - now purchasing for the next generation

We first read the book during my son's remedial tuition classes and since it's easy to read and understand and the pictures are nice, we bought the book and are quite happy.
