If I lived in an area without so many potholes, this would be a fine product. However, I live in Chicago and I don't think any magnet would be strong enough to keep my heavy phone from dropping anytime I hit a pothole. If you're like me, you're better off with a clamp style mount.Also, the clip on the magnet doesn't work with all vents. I purchased this for a long rental truck drive and the vent was too thick for the clips.
