Xcelite 99SMK Canvas Case Only for 99SM Service Roll Kit

I received one of these cases, complete with tools, over 30 years ago, and used it on an almost daily basis. After the threads started coming loose around the edges and the canvas wore through in some spots where the tools rubbed against the cloth, I decided to replace it. The new case is surprisingly even better than the original. It appears to be made of thicker material, and has a "hook and loop" fastener to keep it from rolling open. This case will certainly still be around after I'm gone for good.

What is in the picture is not what you get. I have a canvas case like what is in the picture, but what I got was all plastic and no canvas. It feels very cheap, it was not what I was expecting. You should put the picture of what it is you're selling. This is classic bait and switch.

I have used this exact model of tool roll since 1971. This is my 3rd one and it takes care of all my tool needs. I put a lot of additional tools in it, other than the ones that originally came with it. This roll is very functional for using many small hand tools. It is convenient to keep in the tool bag.

I have owned my tool set since the mid-1960's. The tools have held up well with moderately heavy use, but the roll is tattered after all these years. The replacement roll case, while not quite identical to the original, has made me feel like I have a new set of tools. I am very pleased.

Color (light blue) does not match the picture. It is a cheep vinyl not canvas backed like it was when the REAL XCELITE company (in Orchard Park, NY) made it. Had my 99SM Service Master tool kit for over 48 years, first time I had to replace the case.

My uncle, some 40 years ago, told me to buy "Xcelite" and not " Xcelite brand" tools due to quality. Now we are at "Xcelite by Weller" made in China.The case is very different than the old dark blue cases. The one I received seems well built. Time will tell if it holds up as well as the original "Xcelite" case.
