Underwood Liver Wurst Spread, 4.25 Ounce (Pack of 24)

This spread has been impossible to find in markets for years. Someone recently mentioned it being for sale here. I have read the negative reviews and am a little surprised. Being a canned spread, one should expect it to be a bit salty and I can't understand how someone was disappointed to not find chunks of meat in this or any other spread. I grew up on this product and it has always been a family favorite. I decided to surprise my mother with this. She was very happy when the delivery box was opened. We have missed it for quite a while now. She made sure to buy some rye bread when she went shopping and opened a can as soon as she returned. We gave a few cans to my sister and i'm pretty sure my brother will enjoy taking a few cans back home after he visits for Easter dinner later today. It has to be refrigerated once the can is opened and doesn't taste quite as good after doing so and gets harder to spread. Since the cans aren't very big, we both enjoyed some when it was first opened and my mother used the last of the can for a bedtime snack. It's delicious on rye and is ok on white bread. It also goes well on certain crackers. It does have a strong, salty flavor but if one likes liverwurst, this is a great snack. I only buy Boar's Head and the occasional braunschweiger and find this well worth the cost of buying a case at a time, especially since it is impossible to find elsewhere. It certainly won't go to waste. But for anyone that hasn't tasted it before and is unsure if they'd like it or not, it can be an expensive mistake.

I like that Amazon sells this Underwood can liverwurst in multipack form. I love that it's shelf stable ,and it tastes very nice. The manufacturer's website has really nice recipes to guide you to use the product in many ways; I also eat it straight from the can...liver has many nutrients and this tasty liverwurst makes it easy to eat.

Best canned livewurst

Have ordered this multiple times. My entire family likes it. I have a vegetarian diet, but sometimes every 5 -10 years I crave liver. It usually means I'm low in iron. I take supplements, but I also pay attention to my body and eat this. It helps repair my health. I can't eat a lot of it, so I pass it to my parents who love it. We really appreciate this being available here.

The first thing to realize is this is not the refrigerated liverwurst from the supermarket. It is thinner, less meaty, and with added spices. I added a spoonful of Dijon-style mustard, a few breadcrumbs, and some chopped onion; and this made a delicious dip for rye crackers. Think of it more as a base for a dip rather than a finished product.

The product is good but inside the box, there is one can liverwurst missing. One of the package of 24 is opened n .,says in red sticker cxp25eubv...MIA1... Hope nothing wrong the rest of them..I have camera Thanks

My wife ordered a couple boxes of this and then found out it wasn't gluten free and so now I'm eating it. I like the deviled ham better. But I have found if I put salsa in it and eat it with Fritos I can fool myself into thinking it's bean dip.

I love all things Liverwurst/Pate/chopped liver. I could eat it 3 meals a day. I always check reviews on product before I buy and you always see some good and some bad and I try to make a decisions based a middle ground of both. There are always people who never seem satisfied or complain about the silliest things. Let me start by saying this was the grossest thing I've ever tasted. The texture was gritty almost sand like, the flavor was what dog food smells like. it was not even close to tasting like liverwurst. someone said they spread it on crackers and have with cocktail. there isn't that much liquor in the world to make this taste good. I even tried to give it to my dog and he wouldn't touch it. so that $55.00 in the garbage and a lesson learned to pay more attention to the bad reviews. So again don't take my word for it, but a word to the wise. find a can and try it first before you buy a case of it.
