Oh, so THIS is the "Magtron" cable. Sheesh.
So much better than the cylindrical ones with red/blue lighting--went through about 15 of those while looking for this one. They fell to pieces and shorted out and were difficult to align and didn't stay on well. One actually messed with my computer's USB port a bit.As for the Magnector X, I actually got my first one secondhand, so my only clue was "MAGTRON" on the side. Well, good luck finding a MAGTRON cable...I'd been on the lookout ever since I realize how durable that cable was. Still works, even though I finally had to epoxy the plug end years later. Finally zoomed in on the photo of one of these and noticed the MAGTRON brand, and realized this Magnector cable that I've been coming across for years is actually the awesome MAGTRON cable I'd been using. Sheesh. Maybe they should put their brand, product name, or model number on it, instead of whatever the hell Magtron is.Picked up this as well as their micro USB adapter. Definitely prefer this one, but adapter works in a pinch. Absolutely would buy again.

It wasn't the cables' fault, but Sony's
UPDATE: After supergluing the socket back into my Z2 these charging cables work better than ever. Now I can pick the phone up, move it around, and use it without interrupting the charging. I still wouldn't say they're perfect but they seem quite good now, so I am willing to blame Sony's design rather than these products for my previous difficulties. My original review is below.------I have both the cable and the X2 adapter, one for in the car and the other at home. I looked forward to these as an alternative to opening the flimsy cover on the Micro USB port every time I want to charge, and these worked... sort of. Even with a thin case the cable has trouble touching the contacts, and the X2 adapter is better in that respect but either the pins or the USB socket are loose so touching the phone, adapter, or the wire stops charging. And I should say that I don't know whether these chargers or Sony's design is to blame, but either way both the cable and adapter are best described as finicky.Over the month since I bought them the connecting problems have only gotten worse, which I was ready to attribute to poor manufacturing. Today I discovered that it was... by Sony. Yes, I am one more Xperia owner who has had the charging connectors pull out of the phone from these chargers. If you bought an Xperia imported, as I did (the Z2 wasn't released in the U.S.), and consequently have no warranty, I advise against purchasing these chargers. Time to see if I can fix my brand new phone...

Works well to charge the phone and bypass the micro usb cord
I have had this for more than 6 months now so I figured I should write a review. Most important part, it fits the Xperia Z3, even with a case. (I have no idea about the Z3v, which is a completely different phone).Yes, it is pretty hard to get this thing lined up to charge, especially when doing it in the dark, but I think that may be more of a design flaw on Sonys part rather that the actual cord. That being said, the charger is excellent. It is very narrow where it attaches and does not have any extra plastic bulk on it. I have had 3 different slim phone cases and this charger worked with all of them.I did not have any of the magnet problems that others were complaining about. The magnet attaches nice and securely but obviously it has not pulled apart the magnetic charging port, otherwise I would be furious. I do detach the charging cord by rolling it side to side vs pulling it straight off the phone, so maybe that's why I have not had any problems with it.

Pretty annoying and I wish the cord was going the ...
I used the cord (not the adapter) on my Z3 without a case.Pros:* It works. The magnet is strong and with a little moving it falls into place and it charges.Cons:* When you plug it in, the cord goes downwards towards the bottom of the phone. So when you hold your phone the cord is either touching your hand or you're tempted to grab the cord as well. Pretty annoying and I wish the cord was going the other way.* Sony doesn't make charging cables for their phones so they expect everyone to dock there phone and thus there are some unexpected (and in my case unwanted) behaviors:** When you answer a call it will automatically put it on speaker phone.** Even if you turn off auto rotate, it allows screen rotations.** I'm sure there are more, I just got my phone recently. There are no options to remove these either.Neutral:* I find the length of the cord pretty small, but perfect length for when I want to charge in my car

your iphone doesn't even have a magnetic charging port. haha.
My only complaint is that the cable isn't 5 feet instead of 3... Other than that, this seems to be perfect for my Z1S. I was a little worried at first, hearing about the magnet being too strong and ripping out the charging port. However, it seems to be the perfect strength for my phone. It is just strong enough to be secure, but not even close to being too powerful. As a precaution, I always remove it by bending it back or forward, not just pulling straight out. Another thing I did was take some thin packing tape, and layer it 4 times (this varies, you might need to adjust it). Then cut a small rectangle the same size as the magnet, and put it on there. Once you get the perfect amount, it'll prevent the port on the phone from being pulled on constantly, if they were close but not quite touching.Fortunately, my magnet doesn't seem too strong. But I don't know if I have a revised version with a weaker magnet or not?
