Works as advertised.
Pro : works as described. I am am using the transformer to power a 220 V dual disk bench grinder for a 120 V outlet. Take a beating and still works, see below...Con: The shipping box was dropped at some point, the case was damaged and bent, only 3 of the 4 feet actually are touching, a bit heavy to be wobbly for sure, but see above.

Warning Dangerous, 240VAC SPLIT PHASE...
This thing can kill you an / or destroy your equipment if not careful. This step-up transformer will give AMERICAN SPLIT PHASE 240VAC (2 times 120VAC, opposite phase). Yes the neutral will be live with 120VAC. Do not power European or asian 240VAC SINGLE phase equipment. If it's just an electric motor, it should be OK but the commun may be connected to the ground and zap you. The information is misleading, let you think this is for europeen (or asian) equipment. This should be illegal to advertise as being for this application. Someone will get kill with this thing. Amazon should not tolerate this kind of mis-information that can cause injury or kill...

Nice sized, but very cheaply made.
Nice big heavy torrid coil. cheap wiring and build quality / construction inside though.
