I Found the Perfect Shoe!
Merrell Men's Moab Rover Waterproof Walking Shoe. This shoe was, literally, the very last shoe I looked at. I was already to to pull the trigger and buy a pair of Merrell Moab’s Gore-Tex. I have looked at over 100 different shoes and the Moab Rover was the best one I found. I had a lot of narrow it down do in my research. First I have a wide foot that requires a wide shoe. This eliminated almost a lot of shoe companies because they just don’t make or sell wide sizes. Second I needed a shoe for day hiking. I am over 60 years old, so you can see my new hobby will require a good shoe and one that reviewed as comfortable and waterproof, and has a great sole for traction and stability. Now narrowed down to a wide, waterproof and comfortable shoe, with a Vibram outsole, I looked for one with minimal break-in time. With all this in mind, I spent the next several weeks (driving my wife and kids crazy) and came up with the Merrell Moab Gore-Tex. But wait, just as I completed my research, I ran across the Moab Rover. It was perfect in all respects. The Rover is: Waterproof, hiking shoe with Vibram outsole, high comfort ratings and a great price point.I received the shoes and all my research was spot on. I am now wearing them at work as the style meets the dress code criteria. They are like walking on a cloud. They fit like a glove on my crappy feet. The toe box is perfect and has the room for the width of my feet. The heel has the Merrell air cushion and it does absorb shock and adds stability as I climb stairs all day at work. The soles are the Vibram outsole and I have plenty of grip and traction. I feel I will have a minimum break in as they are so comfortable and fit so well that I will have them well seasoned prior to our day hikes.Pros: Well just read above and check out Amazon and the Merrell web site. The reviews are spot on.Cons: I have none at this time, nor do I anticipate any.I plan to make Merrell my go to shoes unless something better pops up, but again I don’t see that happening. But again, I research everything to the point of nausea.Oh; Forgot to mention, I live outside of New Orleans and go there often, Have you ever walked the streets of the French Quarter in regular shoes? The Rover takes the cobblestones and uneven walks with perfect stride. This was the true test, and they passed with flying colors.Would I recommend to a friend? You bet I would!

Super comfortable, with no break in period required
I've put over 2,600 miles on these shoes in 5 countries, in less than 8 months. From the streets of Berlin, to hiking in the Olympic Mountains of Washington state, these have served me well. Super comfortable, with no break in period required. The leather helps to dress them up a bit, making them more versatile. Zero complaints with the waterproofing, and I've put them to the test. These are the shoes that have made me a Merrell fan.

Durable and comfortable
I wore these all over Scotland, England, easy hiking, and to work every day. They are a great shoe that I will buy again when they wear out, after 1 year of daily use, they are still great and waterproof.

Very comfortable. Not the most discreet in office scenes, but business-like enough for a more rugged work environment
I wasn't too familiar with Merrell until a friend recommended them. When it comes to shoes, I'm a huge Johnston & Murphy fan as all of my leather "business" shoes are J&M.However, I work in the seafood industry and tend to visit fish farms, shrimp farms and visit ports for receiving fish and seafood processing factories and it can get quite slippery. These almost seem like trek shoes or have that steel-toe look, but when visiting such places like above, these shoes seem "business-like" enough for the situation.Being $100+, these shoes are not cheap, but not necessarily expensive either. And being Asian, I have wider feet than the average person.I was very happy to see that "2E" was available and they are extreeeeeeemely comfortable.

Too small, too narrow, otherwise great
This is a wonderful shoe, I've been a fan of Merrell's for years but they do tend to run too small and too narrow. I wear an 8 D(m) in 90% of the other shoes I have, but this will not work here. The size is close to right in terms of the length, I could have made do with the 8. But it was far too narrow to be comfortable. So while this is a fantastic shoe and I highly recommend it, you may have to try a few before you find a perfect fit, but its worth hanging in there because they are great shoes.

Merrell shoes defective and unuseable
Fit and appearance of the Merrell shoes were fine. However, in only one month, the padding eroded to reveal a flaw in the heel cup. The asymmetrical heel cup on the left shoe is probably due to poor quality control or manufacturing defect because the right shoe was fine. I replaced the insole but that still could not overcome the problem. After only a month (but too late to return it), the shoe caused so much heel pain that the shoe can only be discarded. What a waste of $100. I bought Merrell due to the reputation of their brand but based on this unacceptable product, I will not be able to purchase or recommend their brand in the future. Don't let the high price and brand name fool you, much better walking shoes are available for half the price. I have experienced great results from Reebok walking shoes in the past and have replaced the Merrell's with a new pair of Reeboks that are working out great.

Such a Great Shoe and Great Shoe Company
I own three pairs of shoes that have unbelievably comfortable from the first second I put them on. One is a $250 pair of Oakley Special Forces boots and the other two are Merrells (including these). I don't know why I don't buy them more often... I'm actually going to buy another pair of these in brown because after wearing them for a month they are something I look forward to putting on every day.

Good, Rugged Shoes
I have a fairly narrow (low volume) foot and usually wear size 11 1/2, but I ordered size 12 and they fit very well. The shoe itself is well made and kind of "clunky", meaning a bit heavy, so it's especially good for more rugged uses and cooler to cold weather wear. Overall, I would recommed it to those with low volume feet.
