If I put this on my gas stove to boil 8 ounces of water will the handle get too hot to hold?

Absolutely yes it will. I heat water in a kettle and transfer it to this to make pour over coffee, and the handle can get hot to the touch.

It's good for a cup size of tea. It's convenient and works perfect for an individual.

Can we see a picture of the welding inside the pitcher?

I don’t have the kettle it was returned to seller (wrong size was send)
