The Prayers of the Righteous Availeth Much
Praying God's Word is powerful. In this book, there are Scriptures listed to pray for just about every situation and circumstance. I referenced this book during intercessory praying.

Keys to effective prayer
The intent of the guide is to reintroduce just one of many keys to effective prayer, using scripture to garner the words of God to access divine response and a greater relationship with God the Father, through His Son Jesus Christ, with the enabling assistance of the Holy Spirit. As we experience various emotions throughout our life experiences there is a "cry" or sound from our spirit that will command or demand a response from something or someone greater than ourselves. "The cry of every man's heart is for provision, protection, health and well-being. We require direction, revelation, truth, justice and more." That heart cry can take many forms as they are found throughout scripture; the result of the divine response from God is peace and joy.Martin follows with the lies of Satan we hear most often, and allows the scripture to speak the truth. "God has made a provision for His creation. It is the words of His holy scriptures. When we choose to read, hear, learn and speak the Word of God it is able to save us, deliver us, and protect us from lies and liars." She then explores the meanings of "truth" as it is found in the Word of God. Whether we choose to embrace lies or truth, "what we take to heart rules and governs our emotions and affections."Communion and union with God through praying His word allows us to get God's attention and "invites Him to intervene in the affairs of the earth and your life." "Prayer facilitates the manifestation of God's will and purpose." Prayer establishes HOPE: Hearing God through His word, prayer and your experiences. Obedience to His word and the pastor He has designated to shepherd over you. God expects you to pray without ceasing and to expect His response. You will receive HOPE: God's hearing ear, open access to His presence, peace while you wait for His response to your prayers, and eternal results. She also provides such mnemonics for TRUST. Praying God's word allows Him to transform, prepare, build and establish your spirit in His presence.Praying God's word can take the form of intercession or meditation. The last chapters of the book provide topical scriptures for preparing oneself to be transformed and consecrated so you can achieve spiritual growth and strength to trust and forgive, and exhibit wisdom and the fruits of the Spirit in your life. There are also scriptures for those things that most affect our personal spiritual lives: family, finances, career, health, and emotions. She also provides scriptures for our relationship through God that affects church growth, nations, leaders and missions. What she calls a glossary contains no definitions, but provides an alphabetical topical index with page numbers.

Good book
I loved the book. Title may not have been right for it. It took me forever to read. I am going to say God wanted me to read some parts of the book over and over. There where several times I would turn to the next page and it would go back to the beginning. I would have to read parts of it over and over. But God was teaching me a lesson. One I had always struggled with. Helping others in need even when they didn't deserve it. I have a step son and his wife that are mentally challenged. I want to help them but, at the same time I feel used by them. I still help them when I can but, not like God wants me to. I don't help with a cheerful heart. The book is helping me change that. I am going to try to read it again and hope this time I can read it without having to read the same page over and over.I think each person that reads it will get something out of it. Even if it isn't how to pray.

Simplistic guide
This book, broken into prayer need categories, does indeed utilize scriptures deemed applicable by the author; Scripture verbatim is turned into prayer. It is a helpful guide, and the author describes it as a guide. That being said, if a guide is needed to shape one's prayers, other than searching the bible for one's self, this book can surely help, but googling scriptures related to your specific prayer need could probably also suffice.

Food for Your Soul
Once you get past the first few chapters it becomes obvious as to what the author is telling you. A powerful prayer life involves knowing exactly what our Heavenly Father has promised us. Most times we get so caught up with a long drawn out prayer because we think that this makes us more spiritual. The truth is that we need to know what the bible says about prayer and then to remind the Father of his promises for our lives. This book is a powerful read for anyone who wants a deeper relationship with our Heavenly Father.

Not as useful as it could be
I love to pray Scriptures as it's a wonderful way to know that my prayers match God's will. This book has some brief chapters on prayer, and the rest of the book is a collection of Scriptures to use for particular supplications/intercessions. There was no context about using the Scriptures, just lists recommending certain verses for everything from physical health to finances to anger. There was a lot of repetition--both in categories of prayers (I would have combined a number of categories as they were so similar) and in suggested Scriptures. I acknowledge that some verses are applicable in a number of situations, but often I think other Scriptures would have been more applicable than the ones cited. On occasion, I couldn't really understand why specific verses were listed in particular categories. So while this can be helpful in praying God's Word, I don't think it's as effective as others I have used.

The statement is in the title
Pray What God Says.. The title says it all. For me an interesting book with much thought provoking ideas and words. The fact worth pondering over is... Does God speak to you? Or is it God speaking through you and your conscious? Or is it your conscious brain activity responding to your thinking and conscious question? Just an observation I thought I would add here. If you read the book much sense is explained to those seeking answers to deep questions, I found the book most interesting and would recommend such to any.

Pray what God says
I am used to the NIV bible and going back to a version of the King James Bibles was a bit testing.
