This magnet is a must-have for anyone who has a fishing pole. It holds the pole against a vehicle so it doesn't fall and get stepped on, snapped, or crunched by a door or car trunk hood. If you spend $$$ on a pole, this is a cheap insurance item to protect your investment.

What to do with your rod getting out of the car? This little magnet holds the rod upright and the wind doesn't blow it. One trick I've learned is when you want to move a mile up the road with a 9 ft rod, Put the reel under your windshield wiper and clap this magnet on the rod at the top of the windshield. A lovely gadget, great stocking stuffer for the fisherman. They make some that hold shotguns too.

When I was a youngster, our dog knocked my dads fly pole over and he slammed it in the car door. I laughed. 30 years later I closed my fly pole in the door. Not really that funny. A week later a co workers wife closed his pole in the door. I purchased this and during my last fishing trip, snapped this to the side of my truck to hold my pole. Nothing bad happened. The magnet is strong. It doesn't slip. It hasn't scratched the paint. It holds your rod securely or you csn lean the rod against it. This is the second one I bought.

This little magnetic yoke can save a fishing trip. More than once I have propped a fly rod up against my vehicle while getting ready to fish. On two occasions, just as I closed a door, the rod slid over and was caught in the door. The first time this happened, it was a brand new rod I was just preparing to fish for the first time.
