The one that did work was keeping good suction on roughly 150-lbs each way
This tool does work quite well on seaming granite counter tops. However I ordered two ratchet setters and only one was keeping a grip. The other kept losing suction every 15 minutes or so. I would have exchanged the defective one and tried again if not under a time line. I would suggest trying a long dry fit before proceeding. The one that did work was keeping good suction on roughly 150-lbs each way.

Don't buy- it breaks quickly with normal use. Poor construction!
I bought this and put it aside and waited for my granite slabs. When the slabs arrived I used it for pulling together seams being joined with stone epoxy. It worked fine the first three time, but on the 4th use the ratchet mechanism broke--actually shattering. Given the cost, I would warn anyone from buying this tool. Sadly it is now non-returnable per Amazon policy. I expected that this would be a tool that I could use for the future. Don't buy- you'll be wasting your money!!

Pretty good grip, but not industrial strength
Ordered this product to assist in a Silestone countertop re-glue on the seams. There's no instructions with the tool, but mostly it's self-explanatory. I still don't know what the dial in the middle is for though...breaking suction maybe? I don't know. The tool worked pretty well. As I ratcheted down the tool, the suction grips did slide a bit, which affected how tight I could get the seam, but overall, it's OK.

Very pleased with the functionality
These have great grabbing power and allowed me to get the tightest seams on quartz countertops I've ever gotten. Make sure the countertop is clean and dry first. There's also screws that allow an up/down adjustment of each side of the countertop. I'd definitely suggest a dry fit first as there is a small learning curve to these things. Im looking forward to setting more countertops with these in the future

Surface Seamed with precision.
Click Click Boom counter top glued. Used this to seal solid surface. I did the job with one unit. Next time I think I will opt for two. Good gadget, good quality and I am going to look for other uses.

Hit and Miss
Bought a pair of these seam setter to set my granite kitchen I had two fairly large seams one on the counter one on the island, one of the seam setters kept losing vacuum on one of the cups making it VERY frustrating and difficult to get the seams to set nicely so I ended up having to put the one that worked in the middle of the seam and going "old school" bar clamps and shim crazy to get it fitting correctly. Frustrating but it is bargain quality so I should have known my chances. I don't do this for a living so 400.00 a pair wasn't going to happen, the one that worked, worked well. I waited too long so I can't return the in-op one so....got that going for me.

but they polished off easily enough. I didn't have problems with losing suction ...
This got the job done seaming my L shaped quartz slabs. In the future I'd prefer to use two of these on the seam instead of just one, but I'm cheap so whatever. The suction cups did leave black rings on my white slabs, but they polished off easily enough. I didn't have problems with losing suction like I've seen in other reviews, but I made sure my work surface was clean... maybe this helped in my case.
