Excellent little pop shield
This pop filter was a little smaller than I expected, but actually was better suited to what I needed. It perfectly covers my studio condenser mic without making the singers feel intimidated. It's performance in stopping plosives has been excellent. The neck is flexible, but sturdy enough to hold most shapes and the wire mesh has a plastic rim (something a lot of other metal pop filters don't have) so I am never worried about catching on anything, or even cutting a client. This is definitely superior to the fabric pop filters. It is very easily washed and sterilised and I no longer need to cut up pantyhose to replace a filter when a hole is accidentally punched through it. :DI will definitely be getting another one for my other vocal microphones.

Pretty good
This product is well-built and very flexible in terms of where and how you can install it. The one drawback is that some "pops" still get through. It's basically a mesh on the order of a fly swatter so some significant air can still make it through. On the plus side it has completely eliminated any flying saliva hitting the condenser.

Very nice but wish manufacturer would have done more
Very nice ,but two flaws, the thumb srew will scratch what it screws against, so I went to true value hardware and purchased a threaded spacer,1/4 -20 (actual thread of thumbsrew is 6mm but the 1/4 -20 is soft enough to tread on adequately) . 2nd the metal clam will also scratch surface that it clamps to. So I cut a section out of a large rubber tire patch and glued it on with super glue. Wah La! Fixed otherwise great product very high quality metal screen. Have to put bracket on stand then place spacer and thread part way. Modifications works great. See pictures of modifications.

Musician husband is really happy with how well this worked
I got this for my husband for his birthday. He does a podcast on audio recording and making music. After making a couple of episodes, he decided that a pop filter would be a good addition to his collection of recording equipment. If you are going to make a podcast about recording, you had better sound good, right? He gave it a try this weekend while having a recording session with some of his friends. He was very pleased with the quality of the product and how well it worked for blocking the plosives of his singer. He is really looking forward to using it for recording his podcast later this week.

Very effective -- but short gooseneck limits applicability
I'd love to give this product 5 stars. The mesh is highly effective at suppressing plosives without any loss of clarity or crispness that I often experience with foam filters. The screen on this filter is small enough not to be an obstruction when reading copy. And being all-metal, it's potentially easier to clean and disinfect. But I can't give this product 5 stars because the gooseneck is too short for use with my microphone, an ElectroVoice RE-20. While it might be perfect for use with a side-address microphone, the PS-1 isn't long enough to reach from the front of my 8-inch long RE-20 to a suitable attachment point on the microphone boom. It might be possible to mount the filter to a shock mount, but I don't intend to use a shock mount with this microphone; it doesn't need one.Another minor flaw: the attachment point is a metal thumbscrew, the tip of which is not cushioned in any way. Unlike similar filters whose thumbscrews have rubber or plastic bumpers on the tip to spread out the gripping force and avoid damage to the attachment surface, this bare-metal screw will mar whatever you tighten it to, unless you add some cushioning yourself. These flaws are a real shame, because the effectiveness and small size of this filter is very appealing. I just can't use it with my preferred microphone without modification. My purpose in this review is not to trash the product, but to augment the product description so that others with microphones like mine will have some additional information with which to decide.

Filters out all your poppy pops.
Stop's the popping Pea's!I mean P's!I has a nice flexible neck. It can clamp on to lots of different things, but obviously, and mainly, a mic stand. And really the best part is that it is a metal screen which means it is durable and easily cleanable if you are a "moist" speaker or singer. It might not sound as soft and smooth as the fabric ones, but I don't have one of those so I can't really compare. My only complaint with this is that so far it hasn't gotten me any extra voice-over work. Not that it is supposed to, but you know... It would be nice.

pop filter
Nice wide angled shield with a very strong neck. I uses it with my blue yeti mic fixed to a elbow stand. It is doing its job and doing it well.

Excellent upgrade from standard fabric one
I was using the standard round pop filter made of what looks like a nylon stocking stretched over a metal frame. It seemed to be doing the job okay, but the Avantone is far more attractive and really hugs the microphone. Very classy looking. I haven't used it enough to determine exactly how much better the sound is, but I have absolutely no problems with the recordings I've made so far. It was a bit more money than I wanted to spend, but after investing in Harlan Hogan's VO-1 mic, I felt I should upgrade the filter as well. I'm glad I did.
