the deminsions say this is 3x2.5x2.5 this that really true because mine is smaller?

Yes, as far as I remember, those are the dimensions. If you call Kohler, they can have you text them a photo of your product and they will identify it and give you a product number. You don't have to order directly from them. Amazon is usually less expensive.

My drain won't plug anymore and it's not even that old. Will this fix the problem?

This will replace only a specific Kohler based bath-tub plug that won't pop-up/pop-down anymore.so depends if that is exactly what you have or not.

How do I properly adjust it?

The only adjustments I can make is to make sure the top chrome part (from the original stopper) is tightly placed on the top of this cartridge and to make sure you screw this cartridge tightly into the bathtub drain. There is an extension at the bottom, not seen in photo, that screws into the drain of the tub.

Does this work with the Archer tub?

Yes. I was able to keep the original metal cap from my Archer tub, which matches the long horizontal overflow drain cover. This assembly attached underneath the metal tub stopper cap and fixed the issue I was having. Before buying this part, I couldn't make the tub stopper spring up so water could drain out of the tub.
