This handheld feels nice in the hand. It's got some weight to it. I came from using a competitor radio because their radio provides bad harmonics, interfering with other bands. This radio doesn't have that problem. The only thing I don't like about this radio is that you cannot show the channel name and frequency in one screen. I do love the fact that they sell a AA battery pack shell, a huge plus for the prepper and disaster service worker alike. The software was another story. I tried installing the driver and the software, but the software wouldn't see the radio. I ended up downloading a few versions from Wouxun and finally found one that worked. That would be my only complaint up front, is the software was a pain. Overall though this is a great buy.

I have just a minor problem, the battery doesn’t work. The radio turns on while in the charger, but soon as a take it goes off. I just want to know what to do. Oh, I got it yesterday the 27/07/2019 in the afternoon by UPS in Puerto Rico. Please let me know something soon. Thank you.

Purchased and thoroughly tested two units- both check out across the board with amazing accuracy and almost no harmonic distortion. Audio is on par with Motorola, and the entire unit can be programmed via direct keypad entry, which is very easy. The model is compatible with RT Systems and CHIRP programming, to which we used both. CHIRP and RT each have their own set of unique programming options for the radio, but the best and easiest to maintain full functionality is through direct keypad entry.This radio was clearly designed for ease of use and field programming on the go. Two important notes however:1) The first antenna is retractable- EXCELLENT design and very clever- first radio we've seen with a rubber-duck collapsible. With that said, it does not state what frequency the antenna is designed to operate with at different lengths- you'll need to experiment using an SWR meter if your concerned with this. However, I can confirm the UHF band literally doubles in reception when fully extracted. Some additional instructions on this would make it 6 stars over 5.2) Be advised- there is NO 220 antenna- this is not stated in the instructions so user beware, unless you are able to obtain an SWR meter and calibrate the collapsible antenna for appropriate 220 coverage.Lastly...3) To maximize reception and transmit on the 3 ham bands, you will want to go with a DIAMOND Triband HT Antenna. Nagoya makes a Triband HT antenna covering 220 as well, however Wouxun uses the opposite connector of what their antenna uses, and hence most Chinese branded antenna's will not work.It would be great if Nagoya offered a version for this radio, as DIAMOND antennas are very expensive- but DIAMOND is also premium and the best you can get. WIth that said, your mainstream radio brand antenna's will work with this which is a plus (Yaesu/Icom/etc. etc...).I would advise against using a gender coupler to mount a Nagoya or other opposite antenna, as the coupler will affect your SWR.Aside from that- this is the best BY FAR analog we have tested in this price range. No other radio we have tested and sent back comes close to this. It's sturdy and rock solid for professional use- buy it. You can't go wrong.For all those wondering the fifference between the "E" and the "T" model- they are the same- the only difference is that the "E" model (here) defaults to Chinese when reset, as the "T" defaults to English. A very easy fix via the keypad, and that extra language feature is actually kinda' cool...Buy it- you wont be disappointed!
