Not really gold
No problem printing this. Solutech has some nice filament. 3 stars because as others have noted, the color isn't gold. It prints as a tan or at best a coppery color. I've added a photo that shows Hatchbox Bronze (on the left) verses Solutech Gold (on the right). This filament also prints somewhat transparent. Using my standard 3 top and bottom layers, I can see the fill pattern through the layers if I hold the print up to the light.

Nope, terrible experience with this stuff.
First off let me start by saying that I'm a huge fan of the 3D Solutech brand PLA. I have been using it for a while now and it's the only brand I buy. I have found it to be of excellent quality about 99% of the time with only very minor issues that are extremely rare. It's always packaged great, has never been dry or brittle, and of the many spools I've purchased, only one had an issue with its factory rolling which I had to unroll it and re-roll it to get the knots out. otherwise it's been flawless in every color...until now. I just got a roll of the gold and it's been horrible!! I'm a seasoned printer and have tried every trick in the book to get it to work but I just can't. For the life of me I cannot get good first layer(or second, or third) adhesion. This stuff curls up off the bed consistently as well as warps on every print no matter the temperature, or whether or not I have the printer in an enclosure or not. The warping has ruined so many prints it's painful. Oh ya, it likes to randomly leave zits during adhesion as well, again, regardless of temperature. I will not purchase this color from them EVER again. The other colors I've used have been fantastic however. Hope this helps and it's just my $0.02 on it, your mileage may very as you can see by the other reviews...

This filament is great, color description a bit off.
From the name, Real Gold, I expected something brighter, more resilient yellow like yellow gold, but it's not quite that. I, however, still really like the color, despite this, as a light bronze.. I really like this filament! It has a bit of a glimmer/sparkle in the finish and goes down very smooth for me at 200* with bed at 55* at print speeds around 40mm/s. I have not had it clog in any way on my Monoprice Mini V2. It is very consistent throughout the whole spool (as I've nearly used all of one and ordered a second). The first layer sticks great on my original "buildtak" with no glue or painters tape. All in all, would suggest to others.

This will damage your printer!!! Stay far away!
I bought three spools of this stuff to print respirators for local medical and emergency personnel. It started printing weird towards the end but I ran out and switched to a different brand (limited on what's available and also purchase limits during this pandemic) and I've been chasing all kinds of under-extrusion, layer adhesion, temperature fluctuations, and skipped layers for the past few weeks. (I've put about two kilos of other filament through in since then and have been fighting it the whole time.) I finally figured it out when I tore apart my hot end and found it had packed everywhere in there- some of it had burned in, some just jammed stuff up, and some had formed some kind of viscous goo that gummed everything up. I don't know what they put in this filament but my Ender 3 hot end is a complete mess now. Even the Bowden tube had gotten gummed up and burnt inside the hot end!

Least favorite filament to date
I bought this filament in April when it was difficult to find the filaments I typically use. Right out of the box I could've known this was going to be bad. The filament felt noticably brittle as soon as I opened it.During printing I had trouble with layer adhesion to begin with. After first few prints I also noticed it prints somewhat translucent until you print thicker walls. All of this was stuff that while inconvenient, was something I could account for in slicer settings. The real trouble came when the filament started building up a significant clog. It then snapped and became extremely difficult to get out. Such things happen occasionally, but once it happened once it just kept happening with every print. I switched to some leftover scrap filament from my usual brand to see if it was the filament or something wrong with my printer. The scrap printed just fine. Now I've got 3/4 of a roll of this stuff I'm never going to use.

Gold in the right light
In the right light and the right angle, this filament can really get the gold touch down. However, in most ways not so much. It does look nice and prints quite well, but the gold has more of a bronze kind of feel to it. So if you are looking for a dirtier/darker gold, then yes, this will come out terrifically. However, if you are looking for a nice bright/shiny gold, then you would better off looking for a gold "silk" PLA option.Again though, it does come out looking nice. The image example we used is a bit of a tough example as it was missing some layers in exchange for seeing how quickly the print would complete. We have printed a number of other things using this PLA but don't have them readily available for an image at this time (and we ran out of this PLA already). No special settings or backflips needed for this one. It works out quite nicely, it just comes down to the preference of "what kind of gold are you really looking for".**If you have found our review helpful, please vote it as helpful below so we know. Doesn't work well for me
I purchased this to use with my cookie cutter printing. I didn't realize how poorly it printed until I got some high quality filament that showed me just how the poor this filament printed. I use a Creality CR6SE 3D printer. I have been able to print some cutters but with poor results. There was lots of stringing and wasting of filament. The filament kept breaking in my printer. I think it must have been wet when I received it because I never was able to get a good print out of it. I have probably wasted well over 200 grams just trying to get a decent print. Needless to say, I will not be purchasing this again. The pictures attached were the best that I could get it to print and they were not good at all. I ended up having to throw them all away.

Literally the worst filament i have used
I have used many cheap brands, but this one was actually the most expensive 'gold' filament i bought for a project.Pro's-Cool metal like colorCon's-Brittle. Had the filament snap mid project 4 times. twice on the same part, investing in a filament sensor was worth it. The project self was brittle, and the quality...well-While printing i kept hearing popping, in a weird sizzle like way. Reminded me of PETG that had to much humidity. Even looked the same, as the literal flat wall part had little pock marks on various points of each layer. Tried lowering temperature...this lead to....-Goopy plastic kept causing issues, from extreme stringing, to jams. Lower temps kept jamming, higher temps looking like some homemade printers first test print.-Oh i forgot to mention i had to manually unwind probably 7 meters of the filament to undo 2 knots due to poor winding. This was printed on a slightly modified Ender 3, with near stock PLA settings. I also tried some specialty PLA settings, like my polyalchemy settings, to no difference.I dont know if this was a bad batch, but the only reason I didnt return it was because I really did try to make it work. It looks really cool. But when I managed to get a literal unbranded spool of roughly the same color from china for less then half the price....and it printed...its not worth it

Great Quality Filament
My go to filament, great quality prints with a nice shine. great bed adhesion. price has gone up a lot so look for package deals that will provide better per roll pricing.

Better than their other colours! Prints so well
Awesome stuff. Get the gold, the clear is horrible and useless, the gold prints amazingly though. The colour is only sooo, but colour is irrelevant for most of my prints.

Filamento PLA mal embobinado
Muy mal embobinado el filamento, a ocacionado varias perdidas en la impresion ya que todo se deshenebra cuando jala la impresora el filamento. Hay que estar cuidando la impresion por el mal embobinado del filamento.

poorly wound on the spool resulting in several failed prints.
The spool is so poorly wound it has snapped several times during print. I can't use this filament unless I am in close proximity to the printer, it cannot be left unattended. I bought a silver roll of filament from the same supplier at the same time as the gold and have had no issues with the silver.
