Hi Bob,Yes, just do a 30% water change, and run fresh carbon. This will pull any remaining product out. Never change all of your water, unless you have an emergency, like using too much chemical or dumping an entire can of food by accident (it's been known to happen!). The live plants, if you plant enough, will eventually handle the algae for you.

Do you have to take the fish out or can you leave them in the tank?

However, if you haven't done a water change in a while, we do recommend you do a proper small one on your tank, and let the tank settle down afterwards prior to using this product. It needs oxygen to perform properly and tanks with a lot of organic matter tend to be very low in oxygen.
