After years of training myself that the seam on a USB plug always goes down, along comes USB-C where it doesn't matter. So what do these guys do? The silkscreen this adapter so you have to plug it in with the seam up to read it. Again, minor annoyance, but an annoyance nonetheless.

At the beginning it was great but after a couple of months, it started to fail. I would get another one if needed.

This little gem has the potential to be a game-changer as it frees you from a physical connection to a computer or a potentially expensive data connection to cloud based drives. If I had any issue, it was not plugging it in securely to my mobile tablet which as a result didn't recognize it at first, but on the second attempt after I realized my error it did. On my tablet (USB-C) there was no problems whatsoever. At this price, having the ability to create memory space or transfer files between devices quickly via an instant "on-the-go" connection to your memory card (not included) is well worth the investment. I'm quite pleased with it & will likely get more as gifts. NOTE: Be sure your device has USB-OTG capability in order to utilize this.

Recently I upgraded my phone to android 9. After the upgrade it did not recognize the 64 GB micro sd card - that was a tense moment as I didn't back up the card. I tried those free data recovery apps - didn't work. Immediately ordered this card reader. It came in a nice plastic cover. Card loading pictures were clear. Then I used this reader on an old windows 7 laptop usb port with the sd card in. It took some time to install the driver but eventually the drive showed up - what a relief. I was able to recover the content.

My biggest issue with shooting my old school non-wifi enabled camera was that it took forever to get photos from my camera to posted online. This changed that completely. I plug this into the bottom of my android, grab my SD card and post to instagram immediately. It's awesome. It doubles as an SD card reader for my laptop. :)

Returning it, it doesn't work. It only recognized on 2/3 usb ports and even then didn't recognize the disk I had in it. Didn't work on my cell phones at all with micro usb or usb c connections.

Just what I needed for the right price. Needed to put some roms on a SD card for a retro game handheld I had and my desktop didn't have an SD card slot and this fit the budget!

Does exactly what it says it does. A little challenge to get the SD card because I don't want to break either piece, but works well. Overall really good.
