excellent performance / price ratio but a manual would have been nice.
All solid wood and very solid (i.e. heavy) neck. The balance is such that you may prefer to attach strap to headstock rather than the mid point button at bottom of neck. Very understatedly attractive and well made instrument. Intonation is good to 12 fret and beyond, helped by a compensated saddle. By good I mean there may be a few very minor departures beyond 12 that I picked up with a tuner, but not noticeable to the ear.Tone is warm and deep with very good sustain, no nasty buzzes, strings can 'click' a bit if caught with a nail or hard skin. Sound fairly even for strings without amp, with amp G seems a tad stronger than the others but not alarmingly so (or EAD are a tad weaker!). I used my Marshal 50 AS which was OK at low gain and volume, but definitely sounded uncomfortable at higher powers. A small bass combo is next on the list! Preamp EQ very effective with good range and effective vol out control. Tuner works well but is rather small and some letters not easy to read. Strap, connector cable, microfibre cloth, truss key, wall hanger, padded case, spare battery's etc. supplied, but no manual.Mildly disappointed that there was no manual in the box, so had to go search the internet to find out battery location and access. Still not sure how long battery will last. There is no on off switch as such but as far as I can gather, the preamp switches itself on somehow when plugged in to an amp or pedal.A manual would have been nice, but I haven't got the heart to knock off a star just for that as overall the product fully met my expectations (apart from the lack of manual- did I mention that? ;-)

Light weight and easy to play
For the cost, it is extremely good quality and well worth it. I am, or was, a Jazz Bass player, and due to Neuropathic pain I found the weight of the full-size guitar and the finger strength required to fret correctly almost impossible. So needed an alternative if I wanted to continue playing. Looked at stick basses but they were way outside what I could afford. I heard one of these at a local fate and decided to give the "toy" guitar a try. Well it is no "toy", through my amp it sounds great and is so easy to play. Light, keeps in tune well, in spite of using 4 elastic bands as strings :-) I am well pleased and can carry on playing bass for our Morris side.

Great value bass ukelele
I had a full size acoustic bass guitar on loan for a few days before purchasing this bass uke and the uke is so much easier to handle/ play and acoustically sounds better too. For the money, this is a great into to bass and the quality of the ukelele and gig bag are both very acceptable. I'm more than happy with my purchase

Way Better than my Double Bass and Kala Ukulele Bass
I Bought this Caramel Bass Ukulele after a friend of mine left his at my house and so I had a little play on it like you do and WOW how impressed was I. I had to have one after lugging a Double Bass around for 25 years I just could not believe the top quality of the bass sound that I was getting from such a small light weight quality instrument. I thought can't see Amazon selling these but how wrong was I so I had a read through some reviews and could not believe how some people gave such negative reviews they made it quite obvious they don't no a bargain when they see one. I would definitely recommend the Caramel Bass Ukulele to all my friends and to everyone that need to upgrade their Bass Guitar and Double Bass to this awesome instrument you won't be disappointed so you can thank me later.

Ceased to function after two months
After playing this bass happily for a couple of months the pickup or its connections ceased to function. Too late to return to Amazon so took to local music dealers ( specialist in ukeleles) who diagnosed the fault as incurable because he would not be able to get the parts for this uke. Can't afford another after the cost of this so I won't be playing bass for a while. Very disappointing, particularly after good reviews from other buyers. Did I justget a rogue product?

Give It A Try
I have been learning the Tenor Ukelele but my old hands don't like twisting into some of the chord shapes. I thought I would try this instead as the individual notes can be played. I love it. I wouldn't say it is any easier to learn but the hands aren't complaining as much. Also I find the thicker strings do not need as much pressure so it is easier on the fingertips too.

Great value for money
Very Pleasantly surprised at the playability and electrics for the price.
