what thickness and is it only foil or paper backed?

I have a package here and it doesn't say the thickness of the foil but since most laminators have settings for 3mm & 5mm I'd feel safe going with one of those. It is NOT paper backed.

Can I use this to wrap a cake board? Is it like regular tin foil that will wrap around things and scrunch easily?
