OMG...after years of soldering I now realize I've never really soldered before.
I've used my Radio shack soldering iron for probably 30+ years. I've turned my own tips out of copper for my Weller. I've been able to do SMD components to general hole-through. I've done limited rework with a solder sucker and wick.After my Radio shack gave up the ghost I figured I was due for an upgrade. Holy Crap what a difference. Even my wife knows about this soldering iron. I did do the latest firmware upgrade which makes this thing infinitely more usable. With additional tips I use the hot knife and flat tip for crafting and 3D PLA shaping and welding. I cannot understate how happy I am with this soldering iron. I can never go back. Over my entire life, this was one of the best purchases I've ever made.

Upgraded version of the TS100 - with USBC PD input
This works great and I love the USBC PD input as opposed to only the barrel jack input like the 100 model. The 101 has BOTH inputs.A++++ !!!!

Strong initial impression
Got this to be part of a travel repair kit. Smaller in size that I thought (not a bad thing) and it powers up via the DC and USB C. Heats up far faster than I expected and seems to hold the temperature pretty well.So far only used it to repair an XLR cable, but it worked great to remove the old solder and apply new. Will have to see how it holds up over time, but so far I like it!
